And so the games began

Gamers prayed before they went on, memorized their button combinations, discussed their mains if their opponent was going to use theirs.

It was dead silent aside from the music of the game, the few remarks on attacks, and the shrill sound of each time a button was mashed or tactfully pressed.

This was a complete war zone, meanwhile I was still being bugged by that pesky insect himself. I tuned out what seemed like ages ago, I didn't know when they would call me up and my ears were only open to my name.

I held the controller in my hands when I hadn't even realized I was falling asleep to the boredom from my hands not moving along with the sound of his voice ringing throughout my mind which failed to comprehend what he was talking about.

I was then awakened by almost falling out of my chair as they called the next set of names.

People shooshed me when they heard the sound, either they were shooshing me or solluxs laughing.

I rubbed my head as I stood back up and set my chair back on its legs.

"Sollux I'm bored." I said bluntly.

"Yeah well youre ju2t gonna have two waiit liike everybody else" he said then sticking out his tongue at me

Rude.

I sighed and rest my head on the table we sat at, my arms were stretched out in front of me as i pressed random buttons on my controller out of boredom

To both of our surprise, Sollux was the next name they called.

My head shot up as i looked at him, his eyes were wide

"Gonna come watch me kiick 2ome a22?" He asked as he stood up

I raised an eyebrow and then let out a sigh, "yeah yeah, whatever" i said standing up and heading to the viewing room when i suddenly felt like i needed to do something...

Instant regret

INSTANT rEGRET

I hurried back over to Sollux in line, i grabbed his wrist and he turned around rather surprised

"Sollux!" I said grabbing his attention

He seemed a little confused, but before he could get out one word i spoke

"Not that itll help with how much you suck or anything, but....g-g-good luck..." i reluctantly said

I was expecting a snarky remark like "i dont need luck" or "thanks honey bee"

But instead, he gave me a small smile of hapiness and reassurance before i let go of his wrist and he walked into the gaming room

aaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHH

WHY DID I DO THAT?

WHY WAS HE SO CUTE ABOUT IT?

Know what? Nope. Not gonna fall for it again. Nope nope nope.

Aside from my annoying thoughts, my attention was taken when the fights all seemed to begin. However, my eyes were fixed on only one match.

I didnt know who the other person was, but i knew exactly where sollux was. He chose his character and began to fight.

The match started off good, he hadn't taken any more damage than he had recieved.

That is....until he was knocked off the stage. Since this was a 3 stock match, there was no time limit placed in the game, but for tournaments it was different because they timed each gamer with 5 minutes as a max time.
