ETIQUETTE for newbies
1. Wag kang fan ng fan and then expect a fan back. I-fan mo lang yung mga authors na talagang deserved i-fan.
2. DO NOT UNFAN any authors once ni-fan mo na. You know importante sa mga authors ang fan nila at napakasakit when someone unfanned you. LIKE I SAID IN NUMBER 1, i-fan mo lang yung mga gusto mo talagang author at wag kang magtatampo kapag hindi ka finafan back. Dadating din ang mga fans sa buhay mo in the right time.
3. Wag kang vote ng vote NANG HINDI BINABASA ANG STORY. Tas mag eexpect ka ng vote back. That's called stupidity. Votes are just numbers right?
4. DO NOT PM any authors/ POST in their MB with your story link. AKALA MO OKAY LANG SA KANILA pero you wouldn't know, marami na pala silang sinasabing nega about you. Pag magpopost ka sa MB or magpPM sa isang author, it SHOULD BE OF APPRECIATION OR REQUESTS. Para makilala ka nila in a much NICER personality. Who knows? Dinadalaw ang mga mababait na authors. THEN FIND SOME CLEANER way to promote. Wag yung tipong DESPERATE ang datingan. Go to CLUBS and FB GROUPS.
5. Okay you could use BROADCAST TO FANS pero wag mo namang i-abuse. There should be a time interval and that depends on your self discipline.
6. NEVER COMMENT YOUR LINK on other author's story. KABASTUSAN PO ANG TAWAG DUN. Parang sinampal mo na rin ang author at sinabi na "Oh, try my story! It's way better than this crap!"
PROMOTION
Okay so magbibigay na ako ng tips about this after all ^_~
Graduate na po ako dito. Hindi na ako masyadong nagpopromote because I am contented that I have gain readers.
1. Read a lot. Iprioritize mo ang mga NEW STORIES ng mga NEW AUTHORS gaya mo. Okay magaganda ang stories ng mga sikat na authors, but they can wait. Hindi naman sila ang makakatulong sayo in the first place kundi ang kapwa mo newbie. WAG KANG TALANGKA MENTALITY. Imbis na karibal ang ituring mo sa mga kapwa mo newbie, treat them as buddies. Return every favor!
2. Why read new stories? Simple. Kadalasan PROLOGUE at CHAPTER 1 pa lang yung mga yun. Mabilisan lang, then leave a comment, vote at move on to the next stories hanggang makarami ka. A lot of them will return the favor but most of them wont. Worth the try nevertheless.
3. Join GROUPS in FB. May mga groups na pwde kang magshameless plug meron namang hindi pwede. JUST FOLLOW THE RULES AND BE FRIENDLY. They will eventually ask for your Username and stories.
4. LEAVE AN IMPRINT. Wag mong ipagdadamot ang DEDICATION. Isa yan sa way para makapagpromote ka. When you dedicate a story, mailalagay ang book cover mo sa User's page nila. Sweet. ALSO, USE YOUR LIBRARY WELL. I-add to library mo yung mga stories na nabasa mo na at yung mga gusto mo pang basahin. WHY? Maiiwan sa story ang picture mo. Thats another link back to you. Pati comments ay link pabalik sayo just make sure na may sense naman yung mga comments mo.
5. Raid the CLUBS. Dun ka sa SHARE YOUR STORIES.
6. Make sure na naka link-back ang FB at TWITTER account mo sa WATTY account mo. Ako tinanggal ko na yung sa FB kasi lahat ng activity mo, BROADCASTED ultimo comment mo. Nakakahiya pero nakakatulong yun.
7. Eto technique to ng ilang authors pero di ko to ginawa: pm other authors, consult them what would be the best na maidudugtong sa story mo, then give them the link of your story. Oha, babasahin nila ang gawa mo.
8. Iwasan ang pagdodouble UPDATE nang magkasunod as in minutes lang ang pagitan. Update once a day or every other day or every 3 days. Kapag nag Update ka kasi, umaangat sa WHAT'S NEW ang story mo. So kung nagdouble UD ka nang super konti lang ng time na pagitan, , sayang naman yung another shot sa WHAT'S NEW di ba? Marami ang chance readers sa what's new so be a chance author din. :D
