Sleep on me
Feel the rythm in my chest
just breathe
I will stay so the lanterns in my chest don't fade

When you and Bucky began to date, you always slept snuggled up to his chest. He said it gave him comfort. That no one was going to come and take you. That his happiness was real and present. You were Bucky's light. The only light that mattered to him in his life. And he was never letting you go.

The secrets you tell me
I'll take to my grave
There's bones in my closet
But you hang stuff anyway

Bucky loved to confide in you. His hopes, his fears and generally everything he felt. He shared his insecurities about his metal arm and how he was trying to clean his ledger from the days of the winter soldier.

He always wondered why you stayed with him. He had too much baggage. And sometimes he felt like he was burdening you with it. You never failed to assure him that he wasn't

And if you have nightmares
We'll dance on the bed
I know that you love me, love me
Even when I lose my head
Guillotine, guillotine
Even when I lose my head
Guillotine, guillotine
Even when I lose my head

It wasn't often that Bucky had nightmares since he began to date you. But when he did, they were bad.  He reverted back into the Soldier sometimes. And more than once, you'd been left with bruises. But you didn't care. He was your Bucky. Soldier and all.

Kiss my lips
Feel the rhythm of your heart and hips
I will pray
So the castle that we've built won't cave

You and Bucky had built something together. Something that surprised all the avengers. Something that surprised both of you. You built love so strong that your hearts had intertwined. You'd built yourselves a castle. One only you two had access to

  The secrets you tell me
I'll take to my grave
There's bones in my closet
But you hang stuff anyway

You worked so well because you understood each other in a way no one else could. You were both broken. You'd done things in the past that desrved atonement as much as anything Bucky did. You weren't exactly proud of your past.

Bucky knew, he didn't care. You were still so pure in his eyes. So perfect. So innocent. And the thought made your heart flutter.

And if you have nightmares
We'll dance on the bed
I know that you love me, love me
Even when I lose my head
Guillotine, guillotine
Even when I lose my head
Guillotine, guillotine
Even when I lose my head

You had nightmares. Nightmares of the things you'd done in the past. Nightmares of the darkest part of yourself. But when you slept besides Bucky, everything was okay. It was like the phantoms haunting you in your dreams knew that he was there to fight them off. To protect you.

And on the rare occasion when you did have a nightmare, he calmed you down. He made you feel alright. You danced. Bucky liked to dance and so did you. He said it was one of the few things that reminded him of the 1940s. It was just perfect

You fill me up, you fill me up
You set my soul ablaze
You fill me up, you fill me up
Your love is so amazing
You fill me up, you fill me up
You set my soul ablaze
You fill me up even when I lose my head

You completed Bucky. Steve told you. Tony told you. You were the only one who could call him down once he turned to the Soldier. Just like the Hulk had his lullaby, you were Bucky's Kryptonite. The only one who could make him vulnerable. Make him powerless.

Guillotine, guillotine
Even when I lose my head
Guillotine, guillotine
Even when I lose my head
Guillotine
Even when I lose my head
Guillotine, guillotine
Even when I lose my head
Guillotine, guillotine
Even when I lose my head.

Bucky drove you crazy most at times. He was reckless. He was stubborn. He acted like he didn't need your help while he did. It didn't take long for you to realize that you needed him to need you. You needed to know he was yours. And that was what drove you crazy the most.

You fill me up, you fill me up
You set my soul ablaze
You fill me up, you fill me up
Your love is so amazing
You fill me up, you fill me up
You set my soul ablaze
You fill me up even when I lose my head

You were perfect for each other. You were both hard headed and stubborn. And you loved each other more for it. You fought a lot though. But you always resolved it without words. When Bucky would crawl into bed in the middle of the night and snuggle up to you. Everything was alright

You found the ring in your bedside table. And you'd gone to meet Bucky. You handed it back to him and told him yes. And just like that you were married. You were both simple people. And that was what made it so perfect.
