A knock at the front door of the house causes me to lift my head in the middle of dinner. I break a sweat as I knew who it was. Alex. He was right on time, too on time, my family and I haven't even finish eating. Guess he wants to get this over as quick as possible. Same.

"I'll get it!" I say quietly.

I get up out of my chair, and head to the second hallway where the door was located.

I intake a deep breath before swinging it open.

Alex.

He wore a grey hoodie that looked a size too small, his toned muscled body shining greatly underneath the fabric. His brown hair was cropped neatly to the side, bringing out his also brown eyes.

I didn't know what was happening in those moments. It felt weird. I didn't like it.

"Are you done?" My eyes travel up his body, finally meeting his prideful face. He smirks at me as I silently blush.

Alex nods- his lips still curled up into a smirk- and enter.

I take another deep breath, preparing myself for what was to come.

I follow Alex, somehow leading him to the dining area.

I try to mentally prepare myself again.

Okay, here goes nothing.

We walk under the arch that officially entered us into the dining area. I began to silently panic for the second time this day.

C'mon Ginger! Get a grip!

Alex who stood beside me in front of the long table of my family members, held a straight face.

I switch my eyes back to the table, the curious and furious eyes of my family stared back at me.

I start to fumble with the hem of the blouse I was wearing, nervousness engulfing my body.

Seconds later, I finally decide to speak.

I open my mouth, but nothing comes out. Was I that scared?

C'mon Ginger! You're not telling them you're pregnant! I somewhat prep talk myself.

I open my mouth again, but was cut off before even being able to utter a word.

It was Antony who stood up from the table and pointed at Alex, "out, I want him out! You know the rules Pumpkin."

I looked around. Slightly hoping someone would defend me, tell him he was wrong. Not only for creating rules for me, but for thinking he now had the power to choose who I dated.

"N-"

Once again, I was cut off, but this time, it was Alex who did the deed.

"When y'all figure this shit out, find me up in Ginger's room."

Loud gasps followed his words, not only by my family, but by me.

Cursing?

Dismissing?

Sass?

Wow, Alex. Thank you for helping me!

He maneuvers around the table and I, and starts heading up the stairs. I sigh as I remembered the big flower sticker on my door that spelled "GINGER." That should give him a hunch of where my room laid in this house.

A loud bang on the table jolted my insides and I return my attention back to the table.

"Ginger! Get him out of here. I will not accept h-"

Watching Alex walk up the stairs of my house, suddenly made something click inside my mind. This was how it was suppose to be; I date who I want, my brothers date who they want, done.

My eyes were now open, it saw that my brothers had no part in my life with boys. By force or choice!

My fingers curl into my palms as anger surge through me.

This was my life! Antony was not in control, and I was going to make sure he knew.

"No." I spit coldly. "He is my partner, and we are going in my room to do our assigned project. With or without your approval!" I finished just as coldly.

By the end of my "never to be forgotten" speech, I was already making my way up the stairs, half scared of the sinistered look on Antony's face.

Sass?

Dismissing?

Wow Ginger. The bad boy is already having a take on you!
