Evangeline is asleep when Mare sprints into the room, Cal and Davidson hot on her heels. She is crying, tears streaming down her tanned face. 

"Is she ok?" she says through a shaky breathe. "Is she ok?"

Elane speaks before I can "She will be alright. The healers got to her in time, but she lost a lot of blood, and no one is sure exactly what the after effects of using powers on silent stone that long."

I can see Mare relax. Cal and Davidson seem to let out a collective breathe, their shoulders slumping. Mare takes her hand and Cal kisses her head. I see Elane step forward, but she relents as Cal gently pushes her hair from her face. 

I never knew much of the relationship between Cal and Evangeline besides their engagement. But from all I have observed they came to greatly respect each other over their two different stints of engagement in the last three years. I see how worried he was about her, and it makes me feel a twinge of guilt in my chest. For all the years I hated them

I am glad Evangeline is safe. I don't think I could possibly explain it to Clara. Not that she'd even understand.
