"DEZURE, MY BABY" Some loud ass bitch yelled running up to me.  I made sure to step out of the way before she touched me.

"I don't even know you"

"I'm your mom, it's me baby." She said crying.

"Look, I'm not even gone be mean, it's gone take some time for me to fully get used to all this shit. I'm willing to build a relationship with you, just let me heal." I said wiping my eyes.

"Whatever you need."

"Can I have a hug, please." She asked. I wrapped my arms around her as she swayed from side to side. I won't even lie and say that this wasn't comforting, I needed a good hug.

"Now, I know you won't be used to this but I don't have the luxury you had back in Atlanta, I live in the projects." She said.

"At least you got a place to live. I'm not god, I don't judge." I mumbled laying my head on the window. I decided on a quick nap, a bitch was tired. My scary ass couldn't get no sleep on the plane.

"Dezure, baby, we here." The lady shook me.

"What's your name?" I asked once I woke up.

"Aaliyah" she smiled.

"That's cute." I smiled right back at her.

"Thank you." I said as she helped me take my bags in the house.

"Who are they?" I asked seeing mad people in her house.

"This is the family." She smiled. I didn't smile this time, I was scared as hell. A bunch of people I did not know staring at me. They touched me next.

"Please y'all, give me some space." I said with a shaky voice. "I need some help." My hands were shaking, bad. I couldn't even grab my suitcase.

"You have anxiety?" An old lady asked, she probably my grandma. I nodded my head and sat my elbows on my suitcase, putting my head in my hands.

"Breathe, you don't gotta y'all to us until your ready." She smiled while rubbing my back.  After a while, I finally calm down.

"Thank you, old lady."

"Bit— almost called you something."

"I'm your grandma Beverly.." She smiled.

"Thank you miss Bev" I smiled.

"Can you help me take this upstairs, Aaliyah?" She nodded her head.

"You made it seem like you lived in a bad apartment, this nice as hell, you gotta upstairs." I said as she took me to my room.

"I just thought you would look down on me because I lived in the projects, I heard you lived in the white neighborhood."

"Just because I lived in the white neighborhood don't mean I would look down on y'all for living in the projects, not everybody gone be as fortunate as me and that's okay. As long as you got a roof over your head, clothes on your back and food to eat, can't nobody say shit bad about you." I said unpacking my clothes.

"That lady raised you right." She said shaking her head.

"I'm glad you came out with a good head on your shoulders, I'm just upset that I didn't help with it."

"You still can put some knowledge in my head, I'm only 16."

"Turning 17 in a couple days. I remember:" she smiled.

"You ready to talk to them?" She asked with a serious face. I nodded my head.

"Hey, I'm Darren, your sister." She smiled. She was cute, I can see it.
