The Alphas Sister (Complete)

Chapter Thirteen

I stayed in the tent until the party started, I left the tent, went up to the bar they had set up on the field and ordered three shots. I drank them all quickly, I wasn't much of a drinker but sometimes I had to let loose.

I proceeded into the middle of the field where a fire was blazing and took a seat at one of the logs in front of it. As I look into the fire I think about how all of these mate parties are all the same, the single wolves in the area gather on one of the packs lands on the night of a full moon.

When midnight hits, all the single wolves touch the hands of the wolves who have turned 18 in the last month. They say you can feel it when you touch your mate and you will just know... I've been to enough of these parties now that I don't even get my hopes up anymore

I notice everyone starting to gather at one side of the field, not realising how much time had passed I get up and grab another shot from the bar. I make my way over to where everyone was gathering, taking note that the alpha and Luna were standing on the stage with the ten new eighteen year olds

"Welcome everyone to another mate party" the alpha speaks out "this month we have ten wolves who have come of age and are looking for their mates" he smiles "may the moon goddess bless them and bring their mates to them swiftly so they can experience the amazement of the mate bond" he grins as he pulls his Luna close to his side and kisses her on her forehead

I scoff at it all, I'm twenty one and obviously the moon goddess' blessing never worked on me

We all line up, it took about fifteen minutes until I was making my way up on stage, I approached the first girl who smiled sweetly and shook her hand... nothing. A guy was next and as much as I didn't think I was gay we were encouraged to shake the opposite genders had as well... nothing

I made it to the end of the line and felt nothing. "Another month and still no mate" I sighed. I found myself at the bar again, I just sat there with a bourbon in my hand and watched the part go on around me. Six of the ten 18 year olds had found their mate, I was happy for them but watching them smile as they got to know their mates made me feel empty

"Where's your girlfriend?" I hear Amelia say as she stands next to me with her arms crossed

"What do you mean?" I question, playing stupid

She scoffs "she must have been pretty upset when she saw you up there with those eighteen year olds"

I glance at her sideways "if I had a girlfriend she might have been upset" I say and take a mouthful of my drink

"Don't lie Kyan" she starts getting angry

I finish off the last of my drink and stand up "that so called girlfriend I supposedly have is Cade's sister, he wanted me to bring her here so she could get more familiar with the way other packs operate" I pause to let the information set in

"She's your Alphas sister?" She looks shocked "not your girlfriend?"

"Yeah, so maybe next time you won't believe those rumours that are going around" I walked away and back to the fire. I hadn't seen Electra for a while, I scanned the field and found her talking to a guy, they seemed to be getting pretty close and Electra's smile never left her face

He whispered something in her ear which caused her to laugh, I felt like I should stop what they were doing but it was none of my business. They were just flirting

Electra's eyes flickered to me for a moment and I looked away. As long as she was safe that's all that mattered. When I looked back over to where they were they had gone, I scanned the crowd, I noticed her being pulled away behind the house and I knew what happened there. I myself had been there a few times

Every fibre in my body was telling me it was none of my business, but one part of me knew that Cade would kill me if I let anything happen

I stood up with a groan and walked the same way they had gone. I made my way behind the house and noticed a lot of couples making out but none of them were Electra

I kept walking into the forest behind the house "Liam, don't do that!" I heard her voice not far from me

"Come on babe, we made out so many times at school, shouldn't we take the next step?" I heard this so called 'Liam' say

"Just get off me" I hear rustling next to me and step toward them

I notice that Liam has Electra pinned to a tree, holding her arms at her side and kissing her neck "come on babe" he pleads with her but I notice she struggles to get out of his grasp

They hadn't noticed me get so close, I could feel the anger building inside me. "Get away from her!" I growled menacingly. My beta voice coming to the surface, he looked at me, his eyes widened and he took a step back.

"I ah..." he stumbled on his words and ran away

My anger subsided as I heard Electra's sobbing "Electra?" I questioned as I stepped toward her "are you alright?" I knew she wasn't but I wanted to hear it from her.

I was so close to her now that I could see the tears in her eyes "don't tell my brother" she says as I watch the tears fall down her face "please" she all but begs

"I won't tell him, but I need to know you're alright first" I say softly

She nods her head "I'll be fine, just please don't say anything"

I nod my head "I won't... but I might have to teach that guy a lesson"

She shakes her head "just leave it, Kyan, he was drunk and he wouldn't have hurt me"

I put my hand on her shoulder "that's not an excuse, he should have stopped when you told him to"

She shrugged my hand off her shoulder and started to walk away "I'm going to bed" she says as she makes her way back toward the field

Electra's words made me want to go find that Liam guy and show him a thing or two but I respected her wishes and decided I should get to bed too

In the morning we didn't speak, I packed up the tent, we said goodbye to the alpha and Luna and then started the three hour drive home

We were both silent until the last twenty minutes of the trip "Kyan?" Electra says my name out of no where

"Mmmm?" I say in response

She sighs "thank you for last night" I see her smile slightly

"If you ever need my help I'm here Electra" I say, I meant every word too
