Chapter Seventeen

I didn't tell Electra I had a huge hangover after I woke up that morning, for some reason I didn't even notice it till I got back to my own room and my head was pounding

One good thing about being a werewolf is that it should subside in a few hours, even with the wolf's bane in my system.

I had way too many drinks last night which are laced with small amounts of wolfsbane to weaken our systems and let us get drunk

I had been laying in my bed feeling sorry for myself for the last hour, the whole time I couldn't get Electra off my mind and it was starting to worry me

I felt like I needed to talk to someone but Shauna was completely out of the question since she had found her mate. Maybe I should just get up and get some breakfast to get my mind off her?

I got myself up and made my way to the dining hall, grabbing some bacon and eggs on the way. I notice Electra sitting with her brother on the other side of the room.

Electra starts to wave me over but I pretend like I didn't see and sit in a chair closest to me

So much for getting my mind off her...

They both finish shortly after, Electra storms out the room and Cade came to sit opposite me

"So do you know what's wrong with my sister?" Cade asks as soon as he sits down "she's been pretty moody this morning"

I just shake my head no

He leans forward on his elbows "she told me you went to check up on her last night" he pauses "I just want to say thanks" he nods at me

I just nod and smile at him

He keeps watching my face and I can see him staring "so what do you think was wrong with her?" He blurts out

I take the time to look up at him, his curious expression watching my every move "nothing, as far as I could tell she was just tired" I said, shrugging my shoulders

I hear Cade let out an audible hmmm, he leans his chin on his hand and his elbow on the table. "What did you do after you checked on her?" He raises an eyebrow

His questions were starting to get on my nerves "I went for a run" I say plainly

"It's kinda funny though, your scent was strongest at her room" he leans back and crosses his arms "anything you want to tell me Kyan?" He pauses " I mean you guys seem to be hanging around each other a lot"

I glare at him "please don't tell me you're going to start this again, I've been following your rule okay"

He gets up off the table "just making sure Kyan" he walks away

When he's out of ear range I slam my hand into the table, casing the few others in the room to look at me, I glare at them and they quickly look away

Training that morning had my head spinning, my hangover certainly hadn't worn off completely and it showed in my performance.

"Kyan!! What the hell are you doing? You've done that move fifty times today and it's still not right!" Cade yells at me "try again!"
I groan at this, I should have just skipped it today and stayed in my room

Matt, my partner today, groans as well as we get into position again "drank too much last night?" He smirks

I groan again "yeah, it just hasn't been the best few months and I guess I got carried away"

Matt looks at me and I can tell there's something he wants to ask

"Come out with it" I say, trying to coax him into saying it

He breaks out of our hold "I saw you this morning, coming out of Electra's room" he rushes out quietly

My mind just went 'fuck' "listen, nothing happened I swear" I confess

Matt looks at me questioning what I said

I had to explain "she rushed off from the party and Shauna was shaking her head at me and pointing toward where she went" I pause "I followed her to her room, she was crying and wouldn't tell me what was wrong so I said I wasn't leaving until she told me"

Matt looks at me with and eyebrow raised "and?"

"I laid down on her bed and passed out, I barely remember going in there" I felt like he wouldn't believe me even though it was the truth

He nods his head at me "I believe you, even after I saw you guys in the woods and I saw you coming out of her room" he pauses "I still believe you, just be careful"

I nod my head at him and we continue our training

Electra didn't show up for our usual run, so I went by myself, once again following along the edge of our border, I didn't have to but considering I was out here I might as well check things out

There was nothing unusual, I passed Matt as I walked around, not feeling like running as I was still feeling sluggish

After a couple of hours I made my way back to the house, deciding to go to my room and have a quick shower before lunch

I stopped mid step at my door when Electra's scent reached my nose, it couldn't be more than a couple of minutes she was here, shrugging my shoulders I open my door and notice someone sitting in a chair I had in the corner of my room

"Electra?" I ask, the darkness of my room from the curtains blocking my vision

She stands from her sitting position and nods her head "what are you doing in here?" I question, finding it strange she's sitting here in the dark

She comes a little closer "I just wanted to say thank you for checking on me last night" she smiled shyly

I rub the back of my neck "umm, sure it was no problem" I pause "you could have said it in the hall or something... it's a bit weird that..."

I forget what I'm saying when Electra walks up to me and runs a hand down my chest "I wanted to thank you privately"

I gulped "I ah" I couldn't come out with any words

She smiles at me "I haven't stopped thinking about our kiss" she purses her lips "I'd like to do it again"

She begins to lean forward, I have only a second to decide what to do and I was feeling the same as her

All I had thought about lately was her, her kiss, her smile and her body...

I've been typing chapters out on my phone so if something doesn't make sense please let me know

Trying to keep each chapter to around 1000 words so I have more motivation to write. Sorry if the chapters are short but I'm thinking maybe another 4 chapters until the end
