Chapter Sixteen

I followed Electra's scent all the way up to her room. I cursed at myself 'what the hell am I doing?' I ask myself. I could feel my last drink starting to take affect and each step felt a little wobbly

All I could think was the way Shauna had shook her head at me, but I didn't know what was wrong. I had tried to ask her but she just shook her head and pointed. "Sigh"

Now as I stood outside Electra's room I pondered on if I should knock. I didn't even know what was wrong, all I had to go by was the look Shauna had given me and to be honest it was enough to have me standing here now

I sigh, reach up and knock on her door. I hear shuffling on the other side and then her voice calls out "who is it?" God her voice sounds nice

I shake my head at the thought "it's Kyan" I say, trying not to sound as drunk as I am, my voice only slurs a little

I hear no response on the other side "can I come in?" I ask, having waited over what felt like minutes

I hear more shuffling and a lock click on the other side. Electra opens the door and the first thing I notice is what she's wearing, short shorts and a baggy pj shirt.

I lean against the door frame and cross my arms "well hey there" I say with a wink out of the blue, cursing myself. Her face changes to anger

She crosses her arms angrily "what do you want Kyan?" She asks with such venom

I take a few steps into her room, pushing past her and take a look around. Alcohol fueling my every move. Her room is full of stuffed toys and the colour purple

She waves a hand in front of my face "why are you here Kyan?" She asks pleadingly

I look down at her face. It was the first time I actually looked at her face since coming to her room and I noticed the red around her eyes "why were you crying?" I ask concerned

She looks away from me " I wasn't" she says, shrugging her shoulders

I grab her face in my hands and turn her to look at me "yes you were, tell me why?" I say. If it's over that boy again I'll kill him

She stares at me for a moment and I stare at her, our faces are fairly close and my eyes flicker to her lips every so often

"Don't worry about it, I'm over it now" she mutters before pulling my hands away from her face and turning away from me

I knew something was wrong so I did the only thing I could. "I'm not leaving this room until you tell me what's wrong" I protest and fall onto her bed, my back landing on the soft mattress

She turns to look at me, her expression no longer angry but sad "Please, just leave it alone" she sighs "I swear it was nothing" she pleads with me

I prop myself up my elbow, my head almost touching her pillow and look at her.

I could tell by her demeanour that she was lying, she was crying over someone "does this nothing have a name?" I grin, figuring I was smart and had worked it all out. It has to be a guy, right? Although something pangs inside me at the mention of it

I choose to ignore it

She crosses her arms "even if there was, it's none of your business" she scoffs "I'm fine okay, you can leave now"

I was trying to concentrate on what she was saying but my mind could only think of how sexy she is when she's angry

This alcohol is really starting to take effect...

I lay with my back on her bed and place my hands under my head "maybe I should just tell your brother about this nothing?" I smile and watch her reaction

Her mouth forms an O but she doesn't say anything and I feel a yawn coming on

"There is nothing..." I hear her voice fading out "Kyan" her voice calls out, I like how my name sounds on her lips

'Mmmm this pillow feels so warm, I'll just pull it closer' I move the pillow closer 'it just moved?' I feel my eyes open and take a look around the room 'this isn't my room'

I take a look down at my so called "pillow" and see hair 'shit' I look down under the blankets but we are both fully clothed

My pillow stirs and rolls over to face me "Electra?" I say quietly, she reacts with a quiet 'mmmm'

Suddenly someone knocks on the door "Electra, are you awake?" I hear Cades voice call out

"Fuuuuuccckkkk" I say quietly as possible. Electra begins to stir

"What?" She calls out

"Have you seen Kyan?" Cade asks almost angrily

Her eyes open fully and lock with mine in shock, I reach up my finger to my lips and signal her to be quiet about me

"I saw him last night, but I just woke up" she yells

There's silence for a minute and I thought he was gone "his scent is right up to your door" he comments

Electra looks scared for a moment but answers anyway "yeah, I wasn't feeling well and he came to check up on me"

Cade seems to accept this answer "alright, well if you're feeling better come down for breakfast when you can" he says before I hear him walking away

When he's out of earshot I look at Electra's shocked face "what happened last night?" I ask her. I remember coming to her room but not much else

"You did what I told Cade you did, you came to check up on me... leaving out that you fell asleep... which surprised me" she pauses "I didn't have anywhere else to sleep, so I hope you don't mind that I slept next to you"

I rub the back of my neck "sorry about that, I may have drank a bit too much and thank you for not telling Cade " I smile

She nods "you're welcome, you better get out of here, I don't think my brother would appreciate finding you in my room" she laughs and I do too

"No probably not" I say as I stand from the bed "I'll see you later" I smile and go for the door handle

"See you later" she says as she lays back down

As I made the short walk back to my room I thought about how that was probably one of the best sleeps I'd ever had
