Chapter Twenty Six: Alice

Third person pov
𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟯𝗿𝗱, 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟲

It was dark when Jacob drove the girls back to their house. Charlie told Bella and Emma he wouldn't be home for a while, so Jacob volunteered to stay the whole night with them. While Jacob drive home, Emma looked out the window seeing the woods fly by her. Her mind wondered to Victoria. Did I really see her ? It looked like it. What if she was back ? I'm defenseless.

" Hundred and eight degrees over here." Jacob said causing Emma took look over and see Bella was freezing and moved over to him.

" God ! My hands are freezing."

" It must be nice, never getting cold."

" Its a wolf thing."

" It's not. Its a Jacob thing. You're just warm." Bella said and Jacob smiled brightly when she said that. Emma stared at them and grew happy. Bella was Jacob's imprint which mean't she will always be protected. It made her happy to know that." You're like, your own sun."

" This is better. Now that you know about me."

" But ?"

" You saw what happened to Emily. Sam got angry, lost it for a split second Emily was standing too close. He will never be able to take that back. What if I get mad at you ?" Jacob said turning to look at Bella since they were in front of the house." Sometimes I feel like, I'm gonna disappear."

" Okay, not that you need to hear me say this, but I always will. You're not gonna loose yourself. I won't let that happen."

" We're." Emma corrected making the two look over to her. She smiled nodding her head." We're not going to let that happen."

" How ?"

" I'll tell you all the time. How special you are."

" Thank you for everything. The both of you. You, for being my best friend." Jacob said looking to Emma which made her smile. He then turned to Bella and smiled." And you...for liking me."

" We both know it's more then like." Bella said when Jacob started to lean in. Emma looked to them shocked before laughing and opening the door.

" And I'm out."

" Wait !" Jacob yelled leaning over Bella and closing the door. Emma jumped and looked to him confused." There's a vampire."

" How do you know ?"

" I can smell it. I'm getting you both out."

" That's Carlisle's car !" Emma said when she turned around and saw the car. Hope. It was a disease that killed joy, but it shined in her eyes like a Christmas tree." They're here."

" Emma, it's a trick." Jacob said seeing how quickly she got out the car" Stop ! You gotta come with me."

" They won't hurt me."

" If a Cullen is back here, this is their territory. The treaty says we can only defend our own lands. I can't protect you guys here."

" Jacob, trust us. We'll be okay." Bella said looking up to him. Emma looked at Jacob sadly seeing he was slowly letting her wrist go.

" You're about to cross a line."

" A line that I don't give a fuck about." Emma said turning around and almost running inside with Bella. Emma closed the door and turned the light on seeing nothing.

" I don't see anything."

" Me either." Emma said when Bella yelped. Emma turned around scared it was going to be Victoria when she saw it was Alice standing their." Alice !"

" Emma ?"

" What are you doing here ? I thought you guy left forever."

" Would you like to explain to me how you're alive ?"Alice asked seeing both girls looked confused.

" What ?"

" I saw a vision of you. You two fell off a cliff. Why in the hell would you try and kill yourself ?I mean, what about Charlie? What about-"

" Woah ! Woah ! Woah ! Alice. We didn't try to kill myself."

" I was cliff jumping. Recreational ! It was fun." Bella said shrugging her shoulders while Alice looked at the two of them like they were crazy. Alice, Bella, and Emma sat on the couch.

" I have never met anyone more prone to life-threatening idiocy."

" Did you tell him ?" Emma said holding her mug and looking for any emotion on Alice's face.

" No. He only calls once in a few months. He said he wants to be alone." Alice said before she started to cringe." Aw, what is that god awful wet dog smell ?"

" That's our friend Jacob."

" Jacob who ?"

" Jacob's kind of a werewolf and he imprinted on Bella." Emma seeing how shocked it made Alice.

" Ugh ! Emma ! Werewolf's are not good company to keep !

" Speak for yourself." They heard and turned around to see Jacob enter the house. Bella smiled getting up and walking near him." I had to see if you guys were safe."

" I thought you couldn't protect us here."

" Guess, I don't care."

" Well, I'm not gonna hurt them." Alice said looking between them.

" No, you're just a harmless Cullen. We're talking about the other bloodsucker who tried to kill Emma because of you."

" Victoria ?"

" Yeah, Victoria has been around. I think I saw her when Bella and I jumped off the cliff." Emma said nodding her head seeing the guilt run on Alice's face.

" I didn't see her. I didn't see you getting pulled out of the water either. I can't see past you and your pack of mutts !"

" Don't get me upset."

" Hey, stop !"

" Things are gonna get very ugly !"

" Jacob stop. Not now." Emma said before turning around to Alice." Can you give us a minute ? Just, don't leave please."

" As soon as you put the dog out." Alice said making Emma bit her lip since what she said was sort of funny. Emma turned back to see Bella and Jacob looking at her.

" Is he...? Are there others ? How many Cullen's are here and how long are they staying ?"

" Jake, its just Alice. He didn't come and quiet frankly she can stay as long as she like."

" Emma, I'm just watching your back. Are the rest coming back ?"

" No." Emma said before looking down sadly before grabbing the mug she was drinking from and moved to the kitchen" Not that I know of. Anything else ?"

" Em, Alice is here. What happens now ? Do you think he will come back ?" Bella said walking towards her. Emma looked up showing her tears when the phone rang. The girls looked over before Bella walked over and answered it.

" Swan Residence. He's not here right now. He's arranging a funeral. Who is this ? Hello ?" Bella asked looking at the phone before hanging up. She turned to Emma confused." Who ever it was hang up. Sounded familiar."

" Really ? Didn't even leave a name ?"

" No, they asked for Charlie and what he was doing."

" Emma ! Emma, it's him." Alice said coming into the room which made her snap her head to Alice." He thinks you are dead. Rosalie told him, why I came here. Emma, he's going to the Volturi. He wants to die too."
