After a week of facing the demands of our employees family, here comes Saturday. A dinner with Rio.
"I love you baby. Don't forget to pray before you sleep okay? and please always follow uncle Gray"
"When will you come home?" my baby Anton asked tiredly.
Sinuot ko ang heels ko habang ang phone ay inipit sa tenga at leeg.
"Next week. But mommy will fly there 2 nights from now to check you, okay? I'll find time for you baby"
"Come home now" he cried.
"Baby don't cry. Mommy is doing this for us okay? For your grannies too"
"Okay. Promise me just two nights. Bye mommy, Anton loves you" he said while sniffling.
Parang gusto ko na lang umuwi. My heart aches to leave him there.
"Mommy loves you more. Okay you sleep na"
Pagkatapos kong kinausap ang anak ko, nag-usap pa kami ni Grayson. He's handling all the transactions well of course with the help of Nikki.
"Why are you so early? Dinner is 7 it's still quarter to 5"
"Huh? Dinner at 7? May dinner po kami ni Rio"
"I told you about your tita Ginne" pinaningkitan ako ng mommy.
"Oh my! I forgot that we're going to have dinner with them tonight" gulat kong sabi.
Last week pa to nasabi ni mommy. I was just so busy na hindi ko ito naalala at nailagay sa schedule ko.
"I'll just cancel my dinner with Rio. I know he can understand me" I explained.
"Oh no Madi! That's rude honey. Why not just invite him and let's all eat together. Your family wants to know more about your future partner, you know" she joked.
She wriggled her brows too. Funny.
"Fine I will call him. Pero mom, I can't say he will be my..." sabi ko habang iniscroll ang contacts ko.
"Madi alam ko. After a failed marriage, you're scared. But please learn to open your heart again or else"
Napatigil siya sa pagsasalita.
"Or else what?"
"You still have feelings for your ex" pagtapos ni mommy.
I nervously laugh.
"Of course not! mom"
That's not the reason why I'm still single. Hindi ko lang talaga kayang magbigay pa ng oras sa iba knowing I have my little Anton and of course tons of work.
15 minutes have passed and we are still waiting for my cousin Emily. Atleast Rio here is making all of us entertained.
"Your fam likes me" bulong niya.
"Yeah I can see it clearly" I said smiling.
"I think they can't make it. Sorry for the long wait" tita Ginne said with a disappointed look.
"They?" tanong ko sa kanya.
"Sorry we're late!" that's Emily's voice from behind. Oh I really miss her so much.
