"Au'lani Ka'Sani Gaulden bring yo butt down here!" I yelled looking at the mess she made. I heard soft foot steps coming in my direction making me lift my head up to see my two year old daughter.

I looked at what she was wearing and sighed. "I thought I told you not to wear that dress until tomorrow?"
"Oops." She hugged my leg, "I'm sorry mommy." She tried to talk the best way she could making me laugh. I could understand some of the things she say since she's learning to talk better.
She let go of my leg before running off to her room. I grabbed my phone and went to Pandora. NBA Youngboy blasted through the Bluetooth speakers as soon as I placed my phone down on the counter. I quickly grabbed my phone and changed it to something else.
A lot has happened these past two years. I intended to go to New York but I changed my mind and ended up staying in Miami, Florida. It was kind of hard raising a child by myself but Ive soon gotten use to it just being me and my baby girl.
As for Kentrell, he has started started a rap career and has now became Youngboy Never Broke Again. He hasn't tried to contact me ever since I told him I had a miscarriage, which was a lie. I only told him that so he wouldn't waist his time trying to find me.
I'm actually happy for him since he became a successful rapper. I gave up on rapping when I had my daughter Au'lani. I felt like that wasn't going to put enough money on table quick enough for me and my child so I started my own tattoo shop with the little money I already had. I should have two more tattoo shops opening next month for sure.
I turned on the vacuum cleaner and started vacuuming while singing Karma by Queen Naija. After I got finished cleaning up the mess Au'lani made, I unplugged the vacuum cleaner and walked towards one of the huge windows.
I watched the sun beam down on the pool making my eyes widen. "Au'lani do you wanna have a pool party?" I yelled turning around from the window.
"No!" She yelled back from her room. I groaned walking into her to room to see her tapping away on her iPad. "Why not?" I sat down on her bed.
"Cause I can't swim a-and I might drown." Her eyes widen making me laugh. She looked up from her iPad making me quickly shut up so she wouldn't start crying.
"I'll tell Melissa to bring Tori and Tyla." I said hoping she'll change her mind. Melissa was one of my coworkers at my tattoo shop. We became close friends on the first week she started working for me. She also had two daughters around Au'lani age too.
"Ok I do wanna swim now." She kind of said in gibberish but I understood . I grabbed my phone and sent Melissa a quick text letting her know I'm having a pool and to bring Tori and Tyla. Au'lani other friends from daycare should be coming too.
I changed Au'lani into her swimming suit before going into my room to change into mine. "Mommy somebody knockin' on the door." Au'lani walked in sucking on a lollipop. I walked towards the front door and looked through the peep hole to see Melissa and her daughters.
I opened the door letting them in before locking it back. "Hey Leah!" Tori and Tyla said in usion before running into Au'lani room before I could even say anything back. "Hey bitch." Melissa tackled me in a hug like she didn't just see me yesterday. "Heyyy." I said after caching my balance.
Melissa was from the hood the total opposite of where I'm from. We barely have anything in common so I'm surprise we're even close friends. I still don't fully trust her even though we've been friends for almost a year. It's just- I'm scared she might be another 'Jania' and try to use me.
"Girl guess what." Melissa smacked her lips as I walked in the kitchen to make some snacks for the little unexpected party I was having.
"What?" I asked already knowing she was about to tell me something about her baby daddy. "I asked Joe to buy some shoes for Tyla since she finna start school and he gone say something about him being broke. This nigga always broke." She rolled her eyes making me laugh, "with his broke ass."
I've never met her baby daddy before but only once and I couldn't really even see his face. "I don't know how you take care of you and Au'lani all by yourself especially with out a man. You a independent ass bitch, you know that?" Melissa looked at me as I smiled.
"You don't need a man either." I looked over at her raising my eyebrows. "Girl you know I can't leave Joe broke ass. It's just something about him." She bit her lip. Before I could respond the door bell ringed. "That must be the other guests." I mumbled walking to the door opening it to see Au'lani friends and their parents.
"Oh come in. Glad you guys made it." I smiled at them opening the door wider so they could come in.
