I quickly turned around and started pushing the basket down the aisle like I didn't just see her. "Ta'Leah is that you?" I heard her ask but I kept on walking. I picked up a huge box of candy and gave it to Au'lani so she could hush. "Ta'Leah I know damn well you hear me talking to you." She grabbed my arm making me stop.
"My name is Belcalis, I think you are mistaking me for the wrong person." I gave her fake smile and tried to walk away but she grabbed my arm again making me sigh. "I-is that my grandbaby?" She stuttered looking at Au'lani who was shaking the box of candy. "Uh no. She's no where near related to you." I said quickly.
"Mommy can I have that too?" She looked over at something. I nodded my head and grabbed anything giving it to her.

"That is my grand daughter. I'm telling Kentrell!" Sherhonda said pulling out her phone. "No! Please don't." I pleaded. She ignored me and continued tapping away on her phone. "Fuck it." I picked up Au'lani and ran out the store towards my car. I put her in and got in myself driving away to my house. Once I pulled up in my driveway I sent Jaden a quick text letting him know I'm home. He left me on read which was weird but I shook it off. I grabbed Au'lani and walked into the house.
"We didn't get the candy mommy." Au'lani pouted dragging her feet. "I'll let you get all the candy you want, the next time we go to the store." I told her while closing all the blinds and curtains. She didn't reply which made me turn around to see her gone.
Hmm that's weird too.
"Au'lani!" I yelled walking into her room to see she wasn't in there. "Au'lani where you at?" I yelled again walking into my room but she wasn't in there either. Where could she be? This house isn't that big.
I slowly started to panic once I searched everywhere in the house and still couldn't find her. My eyes widen once I noticed the door to the garage was open. "The hell?" I mumbled to myself walking in there to see nothing but Au'lani toys and two four wheelers.
"I'm so glad I can finally be with my family." I heard a voice behind me. I turned around to see Baby Joe rocking a sleeping Au'lani. "Give me baby!" I yelled reaching for her but he stepped back. "Take another step and I swea I'll slice the fuck outta ha." He pulled out a sharp knife and held it close to Au'lani.
I stood still and watched him closely. "So when are you going to tell Youngboy?" He continued to rock Au'lani side to side. I furrowed my eyebrows at him wondering how he knew.
"Jaden told me." He laughed reading my mind. "How do you know him?" I asked confused as hell. "Silly girl" he shook his head, "Jaden is Jania's brother and if you haven't noticed by now Melissa is my baby mama." He rolled his eyes before smiling, "And you're going to be my next one." He said walking off.
I grabbed the pipe that was leaning against the wall and put it behind my back following him into the living room. As soon as he placed Au'lani down on the couch I hit him on his back making him groan. "You bitch!" He yelled turning around. He tried running towards me but I swung at him hitting his arm. He shook it off tackling me on the ground knocking the pipe out my hand. He pulled my pants down making my eyes widen. "You finna have my baby now." He whispered in my ear. He pulled my panties down getting ready to enter me but the door opened.
"I wish you would bitch." I saw Sherhonda pointing a gun at Baby Joe making me sigh in relief. He got up off me with his hands raised. I pulled up my panties and pants quickly backing away from him. He tried to reach for something in his back pocket but Sherhonda shot making me jump. Blood splattered everywhere making me close my eyes. I reopened my eyes running towards Au'lani picking her up. I kissed her forehead before looking up at Sherhonda who was wiping her gun. "How'd you get over here?"
"I followed you." She shrugged her shoulders, "Did you really think I'll let you get away with my grand daughter?" She asked giving me a small smile. I looked around noticing the mess, "We gotta get outta here." I mumbled walking towards the front door with her following behind.
"Where are you going?" She watched me put Au'lani back in the back seat. "To my other house." I shrugged my shoulders getting in the front. "But Kentrell-" I slammed the door in her face before backing out driving away.

"Now why you told me to meet me here?" I looked around the neighborhood before looking back at my mama.
"I've found Ta'Leah." She said looking me in my eyes. I smacked my lips shrugging my shoulders, "So, what she gotta do with me?"
She sighed shaking her head, "She has your child."
Everything stopped when she said that. It felt like the world stopped moving. I saw her lips moving but I couldn't hear anything. All of sudden everything went black.
