"Are you sure you'll be alright walking home on your own Jungkook? Tae could come with you if you want, besides, it's getting late and I don't want anything to happen to you" Madam stressed over the young boy, but he was determined to prove to the world that he was strong, Jungkook thought that he could handle everything the world had to throw at him.

"I'll be fine, I just have to walk home and it isn't late yet" He replied with a smile and pranced out the door, his smile immediately turning into a frown. He loved all of his friends but they couldn't know what his parents were doing, how much they actually abandoned the small boy. He had been left to his own devices for as long as he could remember, there was a time when he was little, that his mother went out and brought Jungkook with her. He was a baby of about a year old and when she left him in the park on the bench and walked off with her friends, completely forgetting that she even had a son. It was like her body was trapped in a college student's mind. She never stopped partying and drinking, overdosing and shooting things up her arms. His father wasn't any better. The two people had met in high school and were "sweethearts" but they had a few breaks and cheated on each other a couple of times, eventually developed criminal records together and by the looks of it, they were hopeless. But somehow they got married and managed to have a healthy child together, after multiple miscarriages before Jungkook.

The raven haired boy had learned to do practically everything for himself from the time he was very young. Cooking, cleaning, fixing things in the house, fighting to protect himself from others made him into a boy with a heart of steel, but he was such an angel like the rest of his friends. The world was too cruel for all of them, but they still loved each other. Jungkook vowed to himself when he entered middle school, that he would never show weaknesses to anyone, he really did believe he could do anything he wanted to.

"Oh look what the cat dragged in. Man you look pretty awful Kook, where you been?" His father greeted as soon as he walked through the door. A thunderstorm had caught up to him on his walk and he slipped a couple of times, making him literally look like something a cat would bring in.

"Nowhere." He replied lifelessly and trudged down the hall without properly greeting his "parents". Wrong move. Jungkook was greeted with a bottle narrowly missing his head, and the vile laughter of his mother.

"Now Jeon Jungkook, is that any way to talk to mommy and daddy?" His mother sneered and crept closer to the glaring boy, raising her hand up to slap him. It was pretty obvious Jungkook wasn't going to let himself be hit, so he caught her wrist and held it there, realizing too late that doing that was an even worse move. He was so focused on his mother that he didn't even see his father charge for him, another bottle in his hand.

Jungkook narrowly escaped and shot down the hall towards his room, locking the door and climbing out the window. He ran out into the yard and over to an old maple tree in the back of the parched grass, scampering up into the branches he hid from his parents and from the light of their house, hoping he wouldn't be seen. It appeared that luck was on his side, because no one had come to find him, so he drifted off to sleep, enveloping his mind with only pleasant thoughts.

*Monday at School*

He was the first one to arrive as usual, as he always made sure that he left before his parents woke up. Jungkook was glad that the school year was coming to a close, he couldn't wait to move up to 8th grade and that also meant that he would be 13. The down side was that as he got older, so did his friends because ya know...that's how time works...

*cough* anyways...

Yoongi walked up to Jungkook with a melancholy look on his face, which didn't really matter because Jungkook just missed one of his six best and only friends.

"Yoongi! Why did you leave us? You made Jin and Namjoon really sad" This seemed to strike something in the older boy, as he hadn't said anything yet.

"Did I really hurt them? I didn't mean to, I'm just having an issue right now...so can you tell them I'm sorry, and I didn't mean any of that?" Jungkook glanced behind Yoongi to see Taehyung, Jimin, Hoseok, Namjoon and Jin standing right behind the pair, just in time.

"Tell them yourself" Jungkook giggled as he pointed behind Yoongi, shocking the edgelord of a boy. Yoongi's eyes widened and he stepped back a couple of steps and then bowed deeply to them, before trying to run off. Sadly for him though, Hoseok grabbed his shirt and pulled him back, a glare evident on his face.

"Mind explaining to us what the hell all that was about?" He crossed his arms and frowned, clearly not impressed with Yoongi's previous actions over the past few days.

"Well...uhm-" Jin cut him off.

"Do you know how worried my grandma was about you?! She was ready to kill your parents herself!" He cried and hugged the boy, hoping to get the message across.

"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean any of what I said, I just want to get away from everything ya know?" They all hummed in agreement, everyone just needed a break as usual.

Or at least that's what they thought.
