Eldon's POV

I tell James my problem and he nods.

"Hey, that's my problem, too," James says.

"Wait, what?" I ask, surprised.

"My problem is that I want to ask a girl on a date, but I get too nervous," he continues, "like a few minutes ago, I tried to ask Riley out, but I randomly said flate." he says, in one breath.

"Oh, but mine's a little different, because it's about Emily, and I wanted to go out with her, but she always says no." I say, thinking about it.

"Hey, we can help each other," he says.

"Um, yeah sure," I say, nodding.

We talk for a few minutes trying to give some advice and we arrive at my house.

Ok, I'm at my house." We say together.

"Wait, what?" We say again together.

"Ok, wait, I live here," I say, "you do, too?"

"Yeah, I live here, too." He says awkwardly.

This just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

James's POV

We walk towards our houses and realize just now, that we're neighbors. Wow.

"Ok, so see you tomorrow at dance." I say, pulling out my keys.

"Yeah, you too." He says, opening his door.

I walk in and the house is empty.

"Mom? Dad?" I call, going upstairs.

"Yeah, we're here." They call back.

"Listen, we found something on the porch." My dad pulls a note out of his pocket.
