Chapter 17

"....She waking up yet?"

"It's been three days!"

"Call Flounder"

"Ursula.... Sweetie. It's time to...."

"Give her another day, if she doesn't wakeup by then..."

THUMP

THUMP

Groan.

Ursula's eyes slowly started to open, but quickly fluttered shut again. She heard the scrape of a chair and a weight on the bed.

"Ursula? Babe? Can you hear me?"

Another groan left Ursula's mouth.

"C'mon La, open your eyes for me, please!" Ursula tried to force her eyes open again but once again found that she couldn't. The room was simply too bright for her.

"Bri...." Ursula felt Embry take her smaller cold hand in his large warm one. He brushed some hair out of her face.

"I'm here La, what's wrong?" Ursula tried to muster her words the best she could and finally managed to croak out,

"Too.....Bright" Embry was still for a moment before jumping up and scurrying over to the lights. She heard a click and then saw the light dim from behind her eyelids. She tried her best to open them a couple more times. On her third attempt she finally succeeded. The room was dark aside from the moonlight streaming in from outside. Ursula figured it was probably about two or three in the morning judging by the moon and how dark it was. She looked over at Embry and was surprised at how disheveled he looked. He looked skinnier than normal, which was saying something because out of all the wolves he was the leanest, his hair had grown long and saggy and he had bags under his eyes. "What happened to you Embry???" He looked shocked for a second before exclaiming with wide eyes,

"What happened to me?!? What happened to you?!?!? You've been out cold for almost two weeks. We had to call Flounder. He couldn't even get you to wake up and he tried some mermaid magic on you. He gave us some, like. potion or something to use on you to help wake you up but it didn't really even do anything." He pulled her against him and she relaxed into his warmth. Her headache felt 10x better now that she was in his warm embrace." We were all so worried about you hun, Paul's a mess. He keeps getting in fights with Jacob about Bella, Leah's even worried about you! Seth's confused. He doesn't completely understand what's going on though." Ursula's eyebrows shot up,

"Seth? Leah? Clearwater?" Embry nodded.

"Leah transformed the day we found you. I was taking her to one of the caves to get away from all the craziness to explain everything to her. She helped me bring you back to the house. Seth shifted about a week after that because Leah set him off. You were right,the Clearwater's were next. Quil still hasn't shifted yet-"

"I wouldn't be too sure about that." Her eyes glowed a toxic shade of green as she looked out the window.

"AWOOOOOOOOOOO" The howl of a wolf pierced through the air and Embry cocked his head,

"That's a new howl,"

"Quil." As if on que the door busted open and a younger boy ran in. Although he was obviously quiet young he was still just as big as the other boys. He was maybe 6'5 or 6'4 with the same tan skin and tattoo on his upper arm. He had short hair also except his was a big shaggier. He wore a big grin on his face too as he announced,

"Hey Embry! Quil just phased! Isn't that great? Sam's even letting me help out!" His smile got bigger and bigger the more he spoke. It was obvious that Sam didn't allow him to do much for the pack. Ursula would be changing that soon. He finally paused his sentences to look wide eyed at the girl sitting next to Embry in bed. He had only seen Ursula twice, and both times were brief as he was only bringing in Embry's dinner. Seeing her now was equally as startling as the first time he saw her. The first time he saw her he had been convinced that she was dead, until he heard her long shallow breaths. This time she was very much alive and very much awake. Her skin glowed in the moonlight and her eyes glowed green. "Holy crap! You're awake! I'm Seth!" He started walking toward her until a deep growl cut him off. He glanced over and saw Embry glaring at him,

"Walk away pup. Now." Seth's grin faltered as he remembered that he wasn't allowed near her until his shifting was under control. He stopped himself in his tracks and quickly turned around,

"Well, can't be late to my first big pack duties! Gotta blast!" He heard a smack echo through the room followed by a soft "owwwww" from Embry.

"You can come say hello if you'd like Seth, I know you won't hurt me." That one sentence alone was enough to make Seth's smile come back and for him to turn around and walkover to her. He stuck his hand out to her and smiled wide.
"Hi. I'm Seth Clearwater. My dad talked about you a lot to me. He said you were really nice. He said you were like his work daughter." Tears immediately swelled up in her eyes and Seth hoped he hadn't said the wrong thing. She flung herself onto him and hugged him so tightly he thought he might explode.

"You will be my squishy. If anyone tries to give you shit, they'll have to deal with me."

Uhhhhhh. Hi guys. Long time no see huh? Sorry for the long wait! I've been super busy with life. Fuck adulting am I right? I got a new laptop too so chapters should start becoming more frequent. I'll have more of an explanation as to what happened fully to Ursula next chapter. I'm also super excited because now we're getting into Eclipse! I can't wait for her to meet the Cullen clan! I'm also super excited to write about her relationships with the Clearwater kids.
