Clover's POV:

After I finished cleaning up the lab, I shut the lights off and shut the door behind me. I headed towards my uncle's office to see him before I left. "Did you find what you were looking for?" He asked me curiously as I walked through the door. "I guess you could say that." I replied, running a hand through my hair. He studied me with his gray eyes for a few minutes before he spoke up once more. "You've changed, Clover. I noticed it earlier, but I didn't have a reason to mention it until now." He said as he brushed some of his long white hair out of his face. "How so? How have I changed?" I asked curiously with furrowed brows. "You seem more self aware than you use to be. And there's another sort of energy with you, but I can't tell what it is." He replied, and my heart started beating faster. 'Did this have anything to do with Will? A part of me thought it was, but maybe it was just because Derek was no longer deluding me down.' I thought inside of my head. It very well could be both as well. "Well, that's what humans do isn't it? Change... evolve?" I replied, and he agreed. There was a look in his eyes like he knew something, but he wasn't quite sure if he should share it with me. We said our goodbyes and I messaged Oliver to come and pick me up. He was shocked that I was at the college, but he didn't say anything. I guess he figured I needed my own space and that I'd end up telling him what I was up to eventually. When we got back to the apartment we found Will cooking dinner for us. "It smells amazing in here." I said, and Will smiled happily at my comment. "Yeah, it does. What are you making?" Oliver asked as he took off his jacket. I took my jacket off as well, it was pretty warm in the apartment. "I made us a salad, spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, and a chocolate cake." Will replied happily. "Holy crap, we'll be eating like kings tonight!" Oliver joked lightly, but he was right. It smelled great and I was starving. "It's just sort of my thank you for letting me stay here." Will said, running a hand through his hair awkwardly. "Aww. That's sweet." Oliver said with a smile. "Yes, he is." I said softly, but Will ended up hearing me anyway. I could tell by the smile that spread across his face. Oliver opened a few Windows to let some cool air in, and it felt pretty good inside the apartment then. "Come here. I missed you all day." Will said as he opened his arms to me. "I've missed you too." I replied as I wrapped my arms around him. He wrapped his arms around me as well, and I just breathed in his lovely scent. "I have to talk to you later." I said in a whisper, and he nodded as we broke the hug. After Oliver changed his clothes we gathered at the table and started eating the amazing food Will had prepared for us. We shared little pieces of our day, but I couldn't share much. All I said was that I visited my uncle, who works at the college. "He's the scientist, right?" Oliver asked curiously before he stuffed his face with spaghetti. "Yeah." I replied. "Cool, I thought he was." He said after he swallowed the food in his mouth. I noticed Will's eyes flick over at me briefly, but I pretended not to notice. I'd explain everything to him later when Oliver was sound asleep. After we finished eating we all took a hand in cleaning the kitchen and washing the dishes. Once everything was clean and put away we hung out in the living room and watched some tv. Before long, Oliver retreated to his bedroom so he could get ready for work in the morning. Just to be a little more private, Will joined me in my room so I could tell him what I was really up to today. "What did you wanna talk to me about?" He asked me curiously after we sat down on my bed. "I wasn't completely honest about what I did today." I admitted, and he urged me to continue. I told him about my dream and how it made me wanna know how he came back. I let him know that I went to his old house and collected water samples to test at my uncle's lab at the college. The entire time I told him all of this he just sat there in silence, and it scared me beyond belief. After I finished my narrative he just looked at me for what felt like eternity. "You wanna know how I got back?" He asked just to clarify my intentions. "Yes." I replied. "Well, you're half right actually. Your DNA did charge the molecules that I'm made of, but I only used their energy. I'm not a part of you, and you're not a part of me. You don't have to worry about me invading your brain space." He said the last part with a slight laugh. I breathed a sigh of relief, I thought he was gonna be furious with me. "So... you aren't mad at me?" I asked him curiously, just to make sure. "Of course not. How could I be mad at you for just being curious? Being curious use to be my job. Curiosity made me want to become a scientist in the first place." He said with a small smile on his face. 'Thank god!' I thought inside of my head. "Good." I said with a slight laugh. We sat there in comfortable silence for a while before either of us spoke up again. "What I'd like to know is why Evelyn didn't come back with me." He said. "Well, maybe there wasn't enough energy in my DNA. Or maybe there wasn't enough of my DNA." I said with furrowed brows. "That could be the issue, but I'm not quite sure. She did pass away before I did, and well... maybe she's lost forever." He said, and my heart ached. "Don't say that. She isn't lost forever. We'll find a way to bring her back." I said. "Really? You'd really help me bring her back!?" He asked me curiously with happiness in his eyes. It was a level of happiness that I never seen in his beautiful brown eyes before. "Of course." I said sincerely. "You're the best, Clover!" He said as he attacked me with a lovely hug. I giggled and hugged him back. We got up off of my bed and we said goodnight to each other, but before he left my room he kissed my cheek. My heart skipped a beat and melted at the same time like before. 'Stop doing that to my heart. If you don't... it's gonna be so much harder for me to let you go when we bring your wife back.' I thought, sadly in my head as I closed my bedroom door. It took me a lot longer to fall asleep tonight, because sad thoughts plagued my mind. And when I finally did fall asleep it was a restless sleep. I woke up to the sound of rain hitting my bedroom window and a bad headache. 'Just my luck.' I thought as I rubbed sleep from my eyes. I slowly got out of bed and took two Tylenol right away before I got ready for the day. Once I was dressed I walked out into the living room and found a beautiful woman in the room with Will. She was tall and had dark hair. 'That must be Evenly, but how is she here?' I asked inside of my head. Her and Will were talking, but when I came closer they stopped. "What's going on?" I asked them curiously. "Clover, I can't stay here anymore. I wanna be with Evelyn, and I can't be with her if I'm here with you." Will said with a sympathetic look in his eyes. "But... you can't go. We'll... we'll figure out some way where the both of you can stay. Just... please don't go. Please don't leave me." I said as tears filled my eyes. "I'm sorry, I can't." He said before he took Evelyn's hand and they both turned to that practical stuff. They disappeared before my eyes. "NO!! Come back!! Come back!!" I yelled as I fell to my knees and tears poured out of my eyes like a waterfall. "Please come back." I said in a broken whisper that was barely audible. I jolted awake and found a pair of arms wrapped around me. "Shhh. It's okay, I'm right here. I'm right here, I won't leave you." I heard Will's sweet voice whisper to me as his arms tightened around me. I snuggled into him and cried for real this time. "Shhh. It's alright. It was just a nightmare." He whispered softly as he left gentle kisses on my head and temple. When I stopped crying I broke the hug slightly and realized that he was holding me in his lap. There was a soft, sympathetic, and concerned look in his beautiful big brown eyes. "You were yelling for me in your sleep," He said as he sweetly wiped my tears away. "What kind of horrible dream did you have?" He asked curiously with furrowed brows. I told him what had happened in my dream, and tears filled his eyes. "I'd never do that to you, Clover. I'd never break your heart." He said, softly as he pulled me back into a hug. "What time is it?" I asked him curiously. I really hoped I hadn't woke Oliver up, and I doubt that I did. That boy could sleep through an air raid. "It's two thirty in the morning." He replied as he handed me a cold bottle of water. "Thanks." I replied as I cracked the bottle open and drank from it greedily. "You should get back to sleep or you'll feel like hell in the morning." He said as he lifted me off of his lap gently. "Stay with me.... please." I said, hoping he wouldn't go. I didn't wanna be alone because I was afraid of having another nightmare. "Sure, sweetheart." He said softly. He shut the lights off and climbed into bed with me. He made sure to give me some space, but I snuggled into his chest anyway. He chuckled lightly as he wrapped his arms around me. "If you wanted to cuddle, all you had to do was ask." He said. I could hear the smile in his voice, which made me smile too. "I didn't wanna seem needy." I replied. "After having a nightmare like that, anyone deserves to be needy for comfort." He replied as he snuggled closer to me. I breathed in his scent and focused on the sound of his beating heart. Before I knew it I fell into a deep sleep. The morning brought me breakfast in bed, thanks to Will. He was just being really sweet to me today, and knew it was due to the nightmare I had last night. He felt sorry even though it wasn't his fault. "How are you feeling this morning?" He asked me curiously as I joined him in the living room. I had already gotten showered and dressed, so I didn't have to leave Will's side any time soon. "I'm feeling way better than I did last night." I replied with a small sign. "Good. I'm glad." He said as he gave me a sweet side hug that warmed my insides. My phone buzzed inside of my pocket, and when I saw who it was I rolled my eyes. "Who is it?" He asked me curiously with furrowed brows. "Derek." I replied with a grimace. "Ignore it. You don't need his negative energy in your life, especially now." He said as he placed one of his hands on my shoulder before he moved it down and started to gently rub my back. "If I don't reply he's just gonna keep texting me." I replied.
