Clover's POV:

I was up cooking breakfast for Will and Oliver, which consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage, and toast. It's sort of my thanks to them for throwing me such an amazing birthday party yesterday. I just hoped I could throw each of them a great birthday party as well when the time comes. That's when I realized that I didn't know Will's birthday. 'I'll just ask him sometime.' I said inside of my head as I continued cooking. A few minutes went by and I felt a pair of arms wrap around me from behind. "Good morning, sweetheart." Will said close to my ear in his morning voice. Shivers ran down my spine, and I smiled as he rested his chin on my shoulder. "Good morning. Did you sleep good?" I replied as I finished cooking. "I slept great! How did you sleep?" He said in a curious tone. "I slept great too." I said, happily. "That's good." He replied before he let go of me and walked over to the counter to get himself a cup of coffee. He was wearing a plain white t-shirt with a pair of blue and white checked pajama pants. He looked so cute in them, but I always think he looks cute in everything. Today was substantially colder than yesterday too, so I didn't mind him wearing a shirt. "Something smells amazing!" I heard Oliver say before he walked into the kitchen. "Thanks. I hope you like what I made." I replied. "I'm sure we will. You're a good cook, Clover." He replied with a smile. He was wearing a pair of black jeans and a black pull over hoodie. I guess we all were feeling the chill today. I was wearing a pair of black jeans with a dark green shirt that has long sleeves. Oliver got himself a cup of coffee as I got us some plates. As they got their food I got a cup of coffee as well before I filled my own plate with food. We talked about what a fun time we all had yesterday and tried coming up with some plans for today. "Let's just stay in today. It's cold and it's a great day for some kind of movie marathon or something." Will said, and we agreed. When we finished eating we cleaned up the kitchen and washed the dishes before heading into the living room. Oliver and I sat down on the couch while Will went to take a shower and get changed. I decided to check the weather, and apparently there was a fifty percent chance that it was going to snow today. Deep down I was actually a little excited about snow; the first flakes of the year are the most exciting. Will came into the room wearing a long sleeved gray shirt and a pair of blue jeans. He looked handsome, and all I wanted to do was cuddle up next to him. When he sat down beside of me, that's exactly what I ended up doing. I breathed in his wonderful scent and he kissed my forehead lovingly. Oliver picked out the Sleepy Hollow tv series for us to watch, which I was excited for. I haven't been able to watch that series in what feels like forever; it really made me mad when Fox cancelled the show. The first DVD ended, and I got up to make us all cups of hot tea. Suddenly, my phone buzzed and I took it out of my pocket to see that an unknown number was calling me. I wasn't going to answer it, but my curiosity got the best of me. "Hello?" I said in a questioning tone. "Good afternoon, is this Clover Mayfield I'm speaking to?" A formal sounding male voice said on the other end of the line. "Yeah, this is she." I replied with furrowed brows. "I'm very sorry to inform you that your uncle, Victor Mayfield, has been found dead," The man's voice said, and my heart dropped into my stomach. It was like everything went into slow motion. Every fiber of my being screamed to me that his death was foul play. Especially since he gave me those top secret documents a while ago. 'He gave up that information on Project Omneity, and his colleagues found out. They murdered him for stealing and giving away their secrets.' I thought inside of my head. "He was found by a couple of hikers at nine thirty this morning, floating in the Driftwood river. We'd like for you to come down to the coroner's office to identify his body." He finished, and I had to lean my back against the counter for support. "Is it okay if I bring my friends with me for comfort and support?" I asked him curiously as I ran a hand through my hair. "Of course, as long as you feel you can trust them. We want to keep this silent until the police force releases a statement. We don't want any information to reach public ear until we're ready." He replied, and I assured him that my friends wouldn't say anything. After he and I finished talking, I hung up and put my phone back into my pocket. 'I knew something was gonna ruin our couple days of peace.' I said inside of my head. "Clover, what's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost." Will said with a worried expression on his face. He walked up to me and placed his hands on my arms. I told them what the police officer had just told me, and both of them were shocked. Oliver gave me a hung and so did Will, but Will's hug was longer and tighter. We sat down at the kitchen table and drank the tea I had made in comfortable silence before anyone spoke up again. "Do you have to identify the body?" Oliver asked me curiously. "Yeah, he said to go down to the coroner's office around two thirty. We better start getting ready." I replied. We finished drinking our tea and we got ready to head out for the day. The cold seemed colder than it was, but maybe it's because of the mission we were on. Getting the news that someone in your family has passed away is one thing, but knowing they were murdered is a whole different animal. There was sorrow, but it was almost forgotten due to the strong feeling of anger. Not to mention the need for justice. The entire car ride remained silent, but I didn't mind. It sort of fit the entire mood. It didn't take long for us to reach our destination, but it wasn't due to Oliver's driving. Any time you don't wanna go somewhere, the trip feels short most of the time. I pressed my thoughts to the back of my mind as we got out of the vehicle together. Will took my hand in his and gave it a gentle, yet reassuring squeeze. Oliver followed us into the building where we met up with a police officer in the main lobby. "Are you Clover Mayfield?" He asked me curiously. He was wearing the usual blue and black police uniform. The most intimidating thing about him was how tall he looked; he was taller than Oliver, who is six feet tall. "Yeah." I replied. "I'm officer Nickson, please follow me." He replied, and I did as I was told. We followed him down a hallway and into a room that was as cold as it was outside. The floor was white and the walls were lined with silver doors from top to bottom. Three silver tables were in the room as well; all of them were empty, except for one. There was a body covered in a white sheet laying on the table closest to us. "Now, you're about to see something you haven't seen before. It might be difficult, but I want you to look at his face and tell me if this is Victor or not." Office Nickson said. I nodded to let him know that I understood, and the coroner moved back the sheet. There my uncle laid with a black and blue colored complexion. "That's him." I said, but I knew that wasn't the end of it. I've watched way to many crime shows to know what was next, and that was questioning time. We were lead out of the room and back into the lobby where we sat down. Officer Nickson asked us if we knew anyone who would wanna harm my uncle, and I told him the truth. I told him to look into Dr. Max Waters, but asked him not to mention that I put him on Max's scent. He agreed, and after a few more minutes of questioning we were free to go home. I didn't know if Max really was the person who killed my uncle, or if he was even involved. All I knew was that it was clear that my uncle had been strangled to death before he was thrown into that river. I could tell by the finger shaped bruises that were left on his neck. "Let's go to Freddy's Diner. We need to talk and get something to warm us up." Oliver said, and we agreed with him. When we reached the diner we picked a booth that was near the back of the restaurant. I sat on the inside with Will beside of me, and Oliver sat on the other side of the booth. "Hello, welcome to Freddy's Diner. What can I get you guys to drink?" A man with shoulder length blond hair asked us. We all ordered coffee, and he left us alone as he went to the kitchen to retrieve our drinks. All of stayed quiet for what felt like forever before anyone spoke up. "Do you really think Waters killed Victor?" Oliver asked no one in particular. "I'm not sure, but someone did." I admitted. "If Waters is desperate enough... there's no telling what he'll do." Will said, and Oliver's eyes widened in fear. Our waiter came back with our drinks, and we went silent again. It was like we were all trying to play armchair detective. I took a drink of my coffee when my phone buzzed. After I sat my cup down I reached inside of my pocket to retrieve my phone.

Jessica: I just heard what happened to your uncle on the news. I'm so sorry, Clover. If there's anything I can do, just ask. <3

Liv: I hope you're doing alright. I just heard about your uncle. I'm so sorry. :( If you need anything just let me know. <3

I thanked them for their kind words, and that's when the idea of a funeral popped into my mind. 'Do I have enough money for a funeral?!?' I wondered, and figured that I probably didn't. 'If the police think his death was foul play, then it might take a while for them to examine the body further.' I thought inside of my head. I forced myself to press my thoughts to the back of my mind when the waiter came back. We ordered the food we wanted and Will distracted me by making small talk. "Everything is gonna be fine. If anything bad happens, I'll protect you... both of you. You're all I have left and there's no way I'm letting anything take you two away from me." Will said, and I snuggled into his side. "You're so sweet, Will." I said and he wrapped his arms around me lovingly. "We'll do our best to protect you as well, Will. You mean a lot to us too." Oliver said, and I agreed. When the waiter returned with our food we dug in and let the hot food warm up our chilled bodies. As we ate I noticed a couple of white snow flakes falling silently towards the ground. It was beautiful, but I knew that winter had finally begun whether we liked it or not. "Look at that, it finally decided to snow." Oliver said after we paid for our meals and headed back outside. "It's beautiful." Will said softly as he admired the tiny little flakes falling from the sky. That's when I realized that this was most likely the first time he has seen snow in forever. The way he looked at them was so adorable I couldn't help but hug him. "What was that for?" He asked with a slight chuckle. "Because you're just... perfect." I said, not able to really express my feelings. "Aww. You're perfect too, sweetheart." He replied, kissing my lips sweetly. It was a short kiss, but that was fine for me. We went back home and put some homemade soup on for dinner tonight. I think all of us knew that a storm was coming, and I don't mean a weather related storm either.
