Alone

3: The Church

I looked at Pietro as he stole a necklace and few other things from the stands outside. It had been two days since the Avengers came to Sokovia.
I looked back to see Pietro bumping into things as he tried to grab more stuff to steal. Wanda and I kept walking trying not to draw attention to Pietro. Wanda seemed annoyed by his actions, but I giggled as he ran into a stand of apples trying to get us.

"Look what I got for you Lizzy!" He said handing me a gold necklace with a little heart locket attached to it. I smiled and gave him a hug, Wanda couldn't help but smile at his gesture but when his eyes turned towards her she retrieved to an angry expression.
"I wish you wouldn't steal Pietro. You keep it up you're going to get shot. At full speed, nothing can touch you but standing still," Her words made me flinch, but I shook my head ridding the thoughts of losing Pietro.

"You're just mad because you didn't get a dress." He said smiling at her, she just rolled her eyes, and smiled down at me.
"It is a beautiful necklace."
All of a sudden a little boy ran up to us, his mother chasing after him. Before she took him away, he said "there is a man in the church, waiting for you." And he walked off with his mother. We all stopped and looked at each other, then walked towards the church. Pietro went in first then me, then Wanda. When we got inside a large man sat in the big chair with a shall around him.
"Talk, and if you're wasting our time-" Wanda said getting cut off by the man.
"Did you know this church is in the exact center of the city? The elders decreed it so everyone could be equally close to god. I like that, the geometry of belief." I tried to see in his mind but there was nothing, "you're wondering why you can't see inside my head,"
"Sometimes it's hard, but sooner or later every man shows himself," i said.
"Oh I'm sure they do," he said standing up, I stepped back, closer to Wanda and Pietro. They pushed me behind them so as to shield me from this thing standing in front of us. He was at least eight feet tall, or more because he was a machine. "But you all needed something more than a man, that's why you let Stark take the scepter,"
"I didn't expect- but I saw Starks fear, I knew it would control him, make him self- destruct-" Wanda said stepping towards him.
"Everyone creates the thing they dread, men of peace create engines of war, invaders create Avengers, people create smaller people, uh, children! Almost forgot the word there. Children. Designed to supplant them to help them."
"Is that why you've come? To end the Avengers?" I asked.
"I've come to save the world! But also- yeah." He said walking out of the church. We all looked at each other and then followed him.

These are the necklace and rings Elizabeth has. Necklace is a locket.
