Elizabeth POV:

When I woke up, I had a new sense of relief. I was going to talk to Peter about everything and tonight was homecoming and deep down I knew that everything would turn out okay. I got ready quickly and Happy drove me to school. I met up with Michelle and told her about talking to Peter.
"I think that's a great idea. I wonder who gave you that." She said with a smug smile as we walked down the hall. "So when are you going to talk to him?"
"I don't know, maybe after detention. Or whenever I see him."
With that being said Michelle and I went to class. I felt nervous and on edge, I desperately wanted to have things go back to normal with Peter. When it came time for detention, I struggled to find a sense of calm in me, my heart was beating quickly and I became fidgety, i played my necklace with one hand and tapping on my desk with the other all the while my leg bounced up and down. When Peter walked into the detention room, I stopped, and I opened my mouth to speak but I could not make a sound. A few minutes later, Peter raised his hand. "Can I use the restroom."
Without looking up, Coach Wilson nodded slowly, "Take the pass." With that Peter stood up and grabbed the pass walking out of the room.
I waited a few moments, and raised my hand, as I had worked up the courage to talk to Peter.
"Coach Wilson, um I was wondering If I could get some water."
Again without looking up he nodded, and I got up and walked out of the room.

Peter POV:

I walked out of the bathroom, and slowed as I saw Liz approaching.
"Hey." she said smiling.
"Hey, um I thought you had calculus 5th period." I said not knowing what to say.
"Yeah just doing some homecoming stuff."
"Oh."
If it had been seven months ago, I would've been nervous and excited to talk to Liz, but after meeting Elizabeth it was like any ounce of the crush I had on Liz had disappeared, I could talk to her without feeling shy.
"Hey, look, I just wanted to apologize about the whole decathlon thing."
"It's fine, last week decathlon was the most important thing but I almost died."
"No I just mean that it was not cool because it meant a lot to you."
"That's sweet Peter." She said smiling again.

Elizabeth POV:

I walked down the hallway, slowing down when I heard Peter's voice. I couldn't make out what he said but as I neared I could here Liz's voice.
"That's sweet Peter."
I stopped and listened.
"So I better get back to detention," Peter said beginning to walk away when Liz spoke up again.

Peter POV:

"I guess you're probably going to homecoming with Elizabeth," Liz said.
I stayed silent for a moment.
"Um, no I'm not." I said sadly, as I stared down at the floor. I wanted to ask Elizabeth to homecoming so bad, but I knew I couldn't. I wasn't even sure I wanted to go. I had almost forgotten that homecoming was tonight.

Elizabeth POV:

"Well, I have been so busy planning it, I haven't gotten around to getting a date, and I was wondering you'd go with me,"
"Oh um, sure, that'd be great!" Peter replied. I could feel my eyes well up with tears, and I walked away. I wiped my tears and walked back into the detention room. It took everything in me to not break down. When Peter walked back into the room a few minutes, I couldn't look at him. I wasn't mad at him, because I had no right to be mad, I couldn't quite describe what I felt, other than the hurt I felt.

Peter POV:

When I got home, I walked into the living room  where Aunt May was reading a book.
"So it turns out I'm going to the dance after all." May looked up at me, raising her eyebrows .
"With Elizabeth?" She said excitedly.
"Um, no with Liz,"
"Didn't you have a crush on her?"
"Yeah, but not anymore. We're just going as friends."
"Well we need to get you ready," May said with a smile.

Elizabeth POV:

Later that night, I sat in the kitchen picking at my food. The dance would start in two hours, but I had no interest in going.
"What's wrong?" Tony asked, I looked up to see the concerned look on his face.
"Peter he- um, he's going to the dance with someone else, and I just really thought we'd be going to the dance together- I just don't understand why all this is happening. It just didn't make sense,"
"What do you mean?" Tony asked.
"Peter saying everything he said, it's not him, and I know it."
Tony sighed and placed his glass of water on the counter.
"Listen, I didn't think this would hurt you as much as it does," Tony said causing me to look up at him.
"What do you mean?" I said causing Tony to sigh.
"After the ferry incident I was worried about you and I was worried that Peter was going to ruin your chance at a normal life, so I told him to stay away from you."
I didn't know what to say, I felt hurt and angry. I stood up and began to walk away.
"Elizabeth, I did it for you, I was worried."
Tony said walking towards me.
"You did it for me?" He stopped, my voice was shaky and I struggled to stop my tears, "Ever since I met Peter I hadn't had any nightmares about Pietro and Wanda, I had finally felt like I could move on!" I yelled, I waited a moment but he said nothing, I then sighed and walked up to my room.

Peter POV:

Over the course of the evening I got ready, I got dressed, learned how to dance, and learned how to tie a tie.

When I was finally ready I texted Liz letting her know I was on my way

When I was finally ready I texted Liz letting her know I was on my way. When I scrolled passed Elizabeth's contact I clicked on it and my finger hovered over the call button.
"Peter come on we should go or we'll be late to drop you off." May said popping her head into my room. With that I turned off my phone and walked out of my room.

Elizabeth POV:

An hour passed and I heard a knock on the door, without saying anything I used the darkness to unlock it, Tony then walked in.
"Elizabeth, I'm sorry. I didn't realize how much Peter helped you and I guess I should've thought of how it might affect you to lose him, but you have to understand, it scared me when I saw how close it was for you being caught."
Tony paused and thought for a moment, "If something happened to you, I wouldn't know what to do with myself. I can't let your sister down, and i can't let you down. I care about you a lot, and I want to protect you." I stood up from my desk as I could feel tears well up in my eyes. "Can you forgive me?" I smiled and nodded as tears rolled down my cheeks, I then ran to him and hugged him, and we stood for a few moments until we parted as he spoke. "Isn't your dance tonight?"
"Yeah, but it's in less than two hours and I don't have a dress." I said sadly.
"Well I wouldn't be too sure about that." He said with a smile. I looked at him questingly. "Vision, Happy! Bring it in!" Tony yelled, after a moment Vision walked through the door carrying a light beige sequenced dress, it's length would reach to just above my knees. While Happy carried a pair of heals, that were a matte black. Vision set the dress on my bed and smiled.
"Now you have to get ready so you can go to your dance." All three then walked out of my room, leaving me to change.

(heyyy, so i meant to bring Vision back into the story earlier but I couldn't really figure out  how, so I just wanted to let you all know hes been there I just haven't been able to figure how to write him in lol
