9: Team Up

We arrived to the Avengers tower, and already I felt the power resinating within the building. I searched through the minds of the few people inside, and came across Tony Stark who had only guilt and determination in his mind. When we got inside we heard Tony and Bruce speaking about their project, about bringing this thing to life.
"I'm going to say this once-" Steve said, walking in, my brother, sister, and I following close behind him. Everyone stepped closer eyeing us then turning back to look at Steve.
"How bout nonce-" Tony said sounding annoyed.
"Shut it down!" Steve said, raising his voice.
"Nope, not gonna happen." Tony said walking around still preparing the cradle.
"You don't know what you're doing." Steve said lowering his voice a little. Bruce's eyes darted towards me then my brother and sister.
"And you do?" He said with anger in his voice, "she's not in your head." He said pointing towards me.
"I know you're angry." I said stepping forward. The anger growing in his eyes even more.
"Oh, we're way past that. I could choke the life out of you and never change a shade." Bruce said clenching his fists. I opened my mouth to say something when Pietro stepped forward, the same amount of anger, maybe more in his eyes.
"What did you say? You speak to her like that again and I'm going to-" Pietro said, before I cut him off.
"Pietro, leave it." I said trying to sound strong. He still glared at Bruce, "leave it." I said whispering now, he then sighed and turned to Wanda who had been standing behind me.
"Banner, after everything that's happened-" steve said getting cut off by banner.
"It's nothing compared to what's coming!" He yelled. Everyone now yelling at each other. I looked at Pietro who rolled his eyes, then sighed, before running circling around the cradle unplugging everything. Everyone was now silent staring at him.
"No, no. Go on. You were saying." He said tossing down one of the wires. I smiled at him, before hearing a loud gunshot and then seeing him fall through the glass floor beneath us.

"Pietro!" Wanda and I yelled. I stepped forward.
"I'm rerouting the upload." Tony said quickly. Steve then threw his shield, which made Tony shoot him, making him fall back. I moved forward prepared to fight, but I was grabbed by Bruce.
His arm around my neck, "go ahead. Piss me off." He said anger in his voice. Everyone began to fight, Wanda was now trying to help Steve, so I gathered the darkness, and pushed it through my body, making its way into his, which made him let go. I then turned around and used the darkness to push him back making him fall. Then a loud crash was made and Thor, was there, standing on top of the cradle. He lifted his hammer towards the sky creating lighting, then he put it to the cradle, powering it up. Wanda ran over to me grabbing me turning me away from the light.
"Wait!" Bruce yelled. But Thor didn't stop. Once he stopped he stood on top of the cradle, everyone now silent. Then all of a sudden a loud the top of the cradle broke open causing Thor to fall, and a the guy in cradle was on top of it. He stood up and looked at all of us, then he looked at Thor and launched himself at him. Thor through him off making the guy almost run into the window, but he stopped and stared outside. Everyone was now gathered and stared at him. Pietro ran up next to me, putting a hand on my shoulder, making sure I was okay, I nodded my head in response and looked at Steve who looked worried.
The guy now turned around and came towards us.
"I'm sorry. That was, odd. Thank you." He said looking at Thor. A cape formed around the strange man.
"Thor. You helped create this?" Steve said.
"I've had a vision. A whirlpool that sucks in all hope of life, and at its center, is that." Thor said pointing at the gem in the mans head.
"What, the gem?" Bruce asked.
"It's the mind stone. It's one of the six infinity stones, the greatest power in the universe, unparalleled in its destructive capabilities." Thor said.
"Then why would you bring it here?" Steve asked concerned.
"Stark is right." Thor said, I looked at my brother who stood close by me but did not take his eyes off of the strange man.
"Oh, it's definitely the end times." Bruce said concerned. I looked over at him as he stood uncomfortably.
"The Avengers can not defeat Ultron." Thor said, before the strange man spoke.
"Not alone." He said simply.
"Why do you sound like Jarvis?" Steve said stepping forward.
"We reconfigured Jarvis's Matrix. To create something new." Stark said stepping closer to the strange man.
"I've had my fill with new." Steve said.
"You think I'm a child of Ultron." The strange man said.
"You're not?" Steve said looking at the man.
"I'm not Ultron. I'm not Jarvis either. I am." He said, looking around.
"She looked in your head, and saw annihilation." Wanda said stepping closer to him.
"Look again." He said.
"Yeah. Their seal of approval means jack to me." Clint said stepping forward. I looked down, avoiding eye contact.
"Their powers, the horrors in our heads, Ultron himself, they all came from the mind stone. And nothing compared to what it could unleash, with it on our side-" Thor said before being cut off by Steve.
"Is it? Are you? On our side?" Steve asked. The man seemed to ponder the questions being asked.
"I don't think it's that simple." He said.
"Well it better get real simple real soon." Clint said.
"I am on the side of life. Ultron isn't. He will end it all." He said.
"What's he waiting for?" Tony asked. The mans eyes darted to wards him.
"You." He said looking at all of us. I looked at my brother and sister who stood behind me.
"Where?" Bruce asked.
"Sokovia." Clint answered. Bruce stepped closer to the man.
"If we're wrong about you. If you're the monster that Ultron made you." Bruce said, pausing.
"What will you do?" The man asked. We all stared at him, silence filling the room, "I don't want to kill Ultron, he's unique, and he's in pain. But that pain will roll over the earth, so he must be destroyed. Every form he's built, every trace of his presence on the net, we have to act now. And not one of us, can do without the others. Maybe I am a monster," he said looking at his hands, " I don't think I'd know if I were one, I'm not what you are, I'm not what you intended, so there may be no way to make you trust me. But we need to go." He said handing the large hammer to Thor, we all stared in disbelief, at the sight. Thro finally grabbed his hammer, and looked at all of us.
"Alright, um, lets go." He said walking away.
We were going to fight Ultron, and we were going to kill him. I smiled at the thought of it, I smiled at redemption. I smiled at the thought of finally winning in life.
