Chapter 2 - Alexander
Alexander was an Angel. He knew the rules, especially don't talk to Devils. But he couldn't help it. He had watched Mariana for ages, and he had never cared that she was a Devil. He loved her. So when he heard about her punishment, he felt guilt and heartbreak. Of course, there was a chance the rumours weren't true, but when he asked a Guardian, Alexander knew before he answered. (Guardians are Angels who make sure you keep to the rules in Heaven.) Mariana had been sent off that morning. Alexander buried his head in his hands in grief.
It's all my fault, he thought. He flew as fast as he could to his house and activated his Portal. This was what Angels used to watch over people. He thought about Mariana, and then she showed up on the 'screen'. She looked lost and frightened, and she was walking around aimlessly. Alexander couldn't help feeling guilty. He knew he would never be able to talk to her again when she returned. But he could talk to her now, she was a human for a year...
