Alexander was surprised. She'd already met someone.
That was quick he thought. He was hoping that she would have needed his help and he could have swooped in and saved the day like the princes in fairytales. He couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy because of that Tom. He scowled at the name, then felt shocked at himself. Angels weren't supposed to feel jealousy or anger. He felt sick. He lay down on his feathery bed. He needed to think. He knew he would have to forget about Mariana for a few days, maybe even weeks. He couldn't help it, even though he knew he could get into tons of trouble.
