Twelve

     Just saying, this is the last chapter of HA that I've had written for a while, I started the next chapter but I'm not sure when it'll be done. So with school in the way I don't know how much I'll get done so my updating schedule may change.

                ••••Kelly's POV••••

   As much as I tried to convince my parents to let me stay home, they didn't believe me when I told them I wasn't feeling well. I guess I understand why, I've pulled that trick on them before and I felt like Ferris Bueller. I felt awful as I got ready for school. Hopefully it didn't show.

"You look like shit." Reese points out as soon as he sees me.

"Gee thanks." I roll my eyes.

"Sorry, sorry." He holds his hands up in surrender. "Anyway, how was dinner?" He asks.

"In the beginning, I was ready to set myself on fire." He snorts, "But after Seth came, it was alright. I'm extremely grateful that he came." I say, shrugging.

"Good to hear." Reese smiles. "He wasn't mean to you, right?" He asks.

"Not one bit. He was actually really sweet. He held my hand when I was anxious, he would help me out when talking to Todd and when we watched the movie, he let me rest my head on his shoulder." I answer, smiling wide at the thought of Seth.

"Th - that's awesome but um, I meant Todd. He wasn't rude, right?" Reese asks, smiling awkwardly.

"Oh.." I feel my face heat up and I shake my head, "Sorry. No he wasn't. He was just acting strange." I tell him.

"Strange, how?" He asks.

"He kept mentioning heroes since he knew about me and the Whirlpool battle that one time. He thought I was dating one of them, or at least knew one of their identities." I explain.

"That's actually really weird. Why would he ask that?" Reese wonders aloud.

"I have no idea. He liked heroes before but he was never this obsessed with them.." I mumble.

Reese went silent after that.

  Reese and I walk into lunch, talking about our earlier classes. We sit at our usual table and begin eating. Soon enough, Matt and Hunter join us.

"Hey guys!" I smile at them.

"Heyo!" Matt replies, smiling.

I glance around, noticing someone's missing. "Where's Seth?" I ask them.

"He got sick.." Matt explains and sneezes, "And I'm catching it.." he adds.

I frown, feeling guilty since it is my fault he got sick. "Tell him I'm sorry he had to get sick coming over." I bite my lip.

Matt shakes his head, "He doesn't blame you, Kelly." He tells me.

"But he wouldn't be sick if - "

"Kelly, shush. He doesn't blame you." Matt repeats, "So lets change the subject. How did everything go with your brother?" He asks.

"He was..weird. He kept talking about heroes..it made me uncomfortable and Seth would get annoyed every time." I answer, sighing softly. "Can we change the subject again?" I ask.

"Of course." Matt nods, smiling.

We all stay silent for a moment, eating and not knowing what to say. I glance at Hunter who hasn't said anything yet. "So Hunter, how's Daisy?" I ask him.
