Isabelle's P.O.V

Simon pulls what appears to be a curtain of leafs aside. At first I couldn't see anything, but a bright orange light coming from the sun. When my eyes adjusts to the brightness I couldn't believe what I just saw.

It's so beautiful.

The sun is just about to set. The water's shimmering, as if there were glitter on them, the trees surrounding the lake were so beautiful as the one on the gate. The grass surrounding us, were lime green. The flowers were even more beautiful and the birds were chirping in the distance. I dreamt about going to a place just like this. And here I am.

Simon starts to set up a picnic. From the corner of my eyes, I can see him place a red plaid blanket on the ground. He starts taking out food and places them carefully on the blanket. I'm too stunned to move. All I do is watch. I watch him and the surroundings. No one has ever done anything like this.

"Would you care to join me?" Simon stands and walks over to me, taking both my hands in his. He leads me to the blanket full of food, and we sit side by side, watching the sun set.

I look at Simon. He's looking at the lake, and what's beyond it. The orange light hits his face, he looks like he's glowing. His chocolate eyes looks into mine, and I just melt.

"I love you, you know that right?" Simon's mouth parts a little. I realise that this is the first time I've actually said those three words out loud to him.

He doesn't say anything. Instead he just sits there looking at me, with his lips parted. I look away from him, embarrassed at what I just said.

"Hey, look at me." He places a finger under my chin and gently tilts my head towards his. Our foreheads touch and all I can see are his chocolate eyes.

"I love you more." He leans in and kisses me softly. I pull back a little and whisper against his lips.

"Not possible."

"Yes, possible." He kisses my lips one last time, and quickly gets up. He takes my hands, and pulls me up. He starts to lead me towards the water. I don't see it at first, but when we get close, there's a little rowing boat, sitting right above the water.

"What's this?" Simon looks at me and smiles. He pulls me close towards his body, and in a swift movement, he sweeps me off my feet.

"This, is a boat! and we are going to ride out into the lake, and have an even greater time." He places me gently into the boat, and carefully pushes it out into the lake. In a swift move, he jumps into the boat, splashing water at me, at the same time.

"Oh you're so getting it!" I reach down, into the lake, and start splashing Simon with water. He drops the rows, and starts fighting back. We're too busy, to notice the boat rocking left and right, that eventually it tilts too far to the right and we both fall into the water.

"Isabelle! Are you alright?" He swims towards me, and wraps my arms around his neck. He pulls me closer to his body, and we just float there.

"Never better" we kiss and make out for a while, before tilting the boat back up, and climbing in. I stare at Simon, as his shirt sticks to his body. You could see his abs, and his chiseled chest.

He catches me staring at him, and immediately looks away. It's so cute when he gets nervous.

He sits back down, and starts rowing again. We stop in the middle of the water, and over look the sun that's about to set. The sky is no longer yellow, but a mixture of red, orange pink and blue. I've never seen the sky like this before.

I turn to Simon, and he's already looking at me. He gives me one of his goofy smile. The one where one side of his mouth goes up before the other.

"Can I ask you a question?"

"You just did." He doesn't laugh, instead he moves closer towards me.

"What did you think of me, when you first met me?" I grab hold of one of his hands, and intertwine our hands together.

"Well, at first I thought of you as just this mundane, who had no clue as to what he was walking into. You shouldn't even know about any of this. When we first met, I was in the kitchen-"

"making soup. I remember." He starts to make a disgusted face, remembering how the soup tasted. I couldn't help but laugh.

"You tried my soup, even though you knew it wouldn't taste good. I admire you for that.

As days turned into weeks, which turned into months, I started falling in love with you. I didn't want to admit it, but I couldn't deny it either. You were on my mind everyday. You spent the night with me, when Max died, you never left me.

It was at that moment, where I think I finally accepted the fact that I was willing to give you my heart, and trust you not to break it."

"But I did. Didn't I?" I nod.

"You did. when I found out you were seeing Maia as well as seeing me, I couldn't help but feel betrayal. I guess it was my fault as well. I never said we were dating or anything, and I made myself believe that you wouldn't want any other girl but me."

"I don't want any other girl but you Isabelle."

"When I first saw you, It was like love at first sight. I know, cliche right? but it's true. From the moment I walked through those doors, my eyes fell on you, and it never left. There was something different about you and I just had to get to know you more. You weren't like most girls. You were this strange creature, that I've never seen before because well, I couldn't.

And the more I got to know you, the more strange you were. I fell in love with you even more. I made a promise to myself, that If we were ever in a situation where I would have to sacrifice myself, to keep you safe, then I would. I'd do whatever it takes. And that's what I did, but I never thought of the consequences.

In a way this is both a gift and a tragedy. Nothing will ever be the same again, I know that. But we were given a second chance, to create something even more beautiful than before."

"I love you Simon."

"I love you more."

"Not possible."

"Yes possi-"

"Not possible. I love you even more because you love me back. I didn't think I could ever be loved or even deserved to be loved. But the more broken I became, the more you seemed to love me and the more I loved you back."

We both leaned in for a kiss, and the final shred of sunlight disappeared. Everything felt right. The boy I love is still here, and he's with me, and we are both so in love that nothing can ever tear us apart. I hope so anyway.
