It All Started With A Fight (Opie Winston)

Chapter 11

Ryder, the twins and I have been back I charming for two months now and it's August so school starts tomorrow, on a Friday. I can't believe Ryder will be in second grade and will be turning seven next month. Ryder is a great big brother always helping me out with his brothers. My baby boy's are growing each day and look more and more like their daddy but with my blue eyes and dimples. Ryder can't wait to start school but I hope he and Zack doesn't get into another fight. I thought the fight they had in kindergarten would be the end of it but no they got into another fight in first grade. Once Ryder and the twins are in bed for the night I head to bed also. I wake up twice during the night to feed the twins then again at six thirty to get me and the twins ready then fix breakfast for Ryder. When I'm done it's seven so I get Ryder up and he gets dressed then comes eat, after he eats he grabs his bookbag and we head to the car. Putting the twins in I get in the driver seat and head to the school. Pulling in I turn to  Ryder and say "have a good day I love you" he says "I love you too mama" then kisses me on the cheek and his brothers on the head and gets out. Before he closes the door I hear someone yell "Ryder" so I look out the window to see Kenny and Ellie. They walk into school and I pull out to see Opie driving behind me and I kind of hope he follows me home but as I turn to head home he goes the other way. Pulling into my driveway I get the twins out and walk inside, putting them in their swings I say "yall daddy was behind us as we drove home. I'm so so sorry you won't have your daddy in your life" crying I kiss their heads and decided to wrote one more letter. After I write the letter I walk outside to put it in the mailbox only to see the mailman, walking up to him I say "did you deliver the mail to TM yet" and he says "no ma'am, I have two more road then I head that way, why" and I say "do you think you could deliver this today" and I show him the letter and he said "sure" and grabs the letter and gives me my mail. I thank him and say bye and walk back inside. Hoping that the letter will change Opie's mind and he would want in the baby's lives. At three thirty I go get Ryder and once were home he says "mama" and I said "yes baby" and he hands me a note, looking at the note it says,
Mrs Rollins,
Today Ryder got into a fight with Zack Martin. Now Ryder wasn't in the wrong but we don't condone violence in this school. This is the third fight between Ryder and Zack and the next time they will be suspended. Please sign and have return to school on Monday. 
               - Mr. Smith
sighing I say "what happen" and he looks down and says "I was walking in the hall back to class after using the bathroom and I got slammed into the wall and when I looked it was Zack and he hit me in the face so I started hitting him and the teacher came out and called Mr.smith. and he gave me and Zack a note to give to our parents" I grab his face to make him look at me and say "I'm not mad baby. you were only defending yourself but next time just walk away ok" he nods and I pull him into hug kissing his head I say "are you hurt" and he shakes his head no. That night I let Ryder stay up late to watch tv and at nine I hear a noise outside my door so I walk up slowly and peak outside to see a man wearing all black with a ski mask so as fast and quite as I can I tell Ryder "I need you to as quite and fast as you can go into my room and into the bathroom ok" he looks at me then gets up and walks to my room and I quickly put the twins in their carseats and follow behind Ryder. Walking into my bedroom I close and lock the door, then follow Ryder into the bathroom. Setting the carseats down into the bathtub I tell Ryder "stay with your brothers and don't open the door for anyone but me ok" nodding he gets in the tub and I lock the bathroom door and get out. Rushing to my bedside table I grab my gun and make sure it's loaded then I call nine one one. I hear two rings then, "Nine one one what's your emergency."
and I say "someones trying to break into my house." and the nine one one operator says, "can you tell me your address, so i can send someone your way." After I tell her my address she asked "are you alone" and I say "no I have my three kids with me" and she says"do you have anything to protect you" and I said "yes ma'am" and right when I said that I heard someone walking up the stairs so I whisper to the nine one one operator "I hear them on the stairs" and she says "an officer is two minutes away" and right after she said that a gun shot went off, the bullet hitting my mirror sending glass flying everywhere, I got so freighted I pulled my trigger and heard a thud. I could hear the nine one one operator calling me through the phone to get me to answer, grabbing the phone I say with a shakey voice "they shot and I shot back" and she says "calm down sweetheart, or you or you kids hurt" and I said "my kids are safe and I got cut by glass" and she said "officers are now there ok. can you tell me were you are in the house" and I said "come up he stairs first door one the left" and she says "ok sweetheart officer are entering your house now" then I hear "freeze let me see your hands." Then it goes quite for a while then I hear a knock and someone says "its Deputy Chief Hale you can open the door now" and the operator says "open the door your safe now." I thank her then hang up, save my gun and open the door. Letting him in I walk to my bathroom door and say "ok baby boy you can open the door now" Ryder opens the door and jumps into my arms.
           Meanwhile at TM
~ Opie's POV ~
I just got back from the last tow of the day to see all the guys, Gemma, Kenny and Ellie around the table. Putting the car and tow truck where they go I walk over to them and Gemma looks at me and says "before I forget you had a letter today" and she turns and tells Half-Sack to go get the letter off her desk. Turning to her I say "from who" and she says "doesn't say", Half-Sack walks over hand it to me. Opening I start reading,
Harry,
Since I didn't hear from you after the first letter I guess you pick out and I understand but I just thought you should know about them. They were born on June twentieth. Blaze Michael Winston was born first at twelve fifty five am and Blade Joseph Winston was born next at twelve fifty seven am both weighing seven pounds and eight ounces and eighteen inches long. You don't have to worry I would never send you to court for child support or anything like that. I Promise.
                  - Haddy
After reading the letter I whisper "holy shit" then I look back in the envelope and see a picture pulling it out I see two baby boy's smiling showing off their dimples and they look just like me but with blue eyes. Looking up everyone is looking at me and Jax's says "what's wrong" and I just hand him the picture. He takes the picture and I watch as his face turns to shock, looking back at me he says "are they" and I nod. My dad then says "what the hells going on" and I say "I got Haddy pregnant. she had twin boy's" and Jax hands him the picture. Looking at the picture he says "yup their yours alright" and he passes the picture to everyone. Gemma then says "what's their names" and I said "Blaze Michael Winston and Blade Joseph Winston" and Tig says "damn man all her kids have badass names, Ryder, Blaze, Blade. better than my kids names" and Jax says "no shit! Fawn and Dawn" and everyone laughs. Gemma then grabs the letter while I show Kenny and Ellie their new baby brothers and Gemma says "what she means by "since I didn't hear from you after the first letter" did she write you before" and I said "no" and Ellie says "she did but Donna read it first and throw it away but I took it and hide it from her so she won't see it. I forgot to give it to you when she left, I'm sorry" and I said "it's ok sweetheart. do you still have it." and she said "it's in my bookbag" and she gets up walking to the office coming back out she hands me a envelope and I open it to find an ultrasound and a letter saying she was pregnant. Gemma then says "I remember now, you were on a run when it came in and Donna saw it and said she will take it to your house" and before I could say anything else Chief Unser walked up and said "Um Opie, I thought you should know that someone broke into Haddy's house and shot at her" and before he could say anything more I was running to my bike I hear Clay tell Gemma to take the kids and head home then him and the rest of my brother follow close behind me. Speeding the whole way there I'm worried, worried for Haddy, worried for Ryder and worried for my baby boy's I haven't met yet. Pulling up I see cop cars everywhere but what gets me really worried is the ambulance.
