You Can't Love Me

you can't love me and you know that, right?

my mind is too deep—darker than the night.
it doesn't seem so right to your fluorescent light.

my scars are too invisible for anyone's eyes to realise.
you won't like it—i'm damn sure 'cause i don't ever find a cure.

you can't love me and you know.

please just let this go
so no one's heart needs to be put on a show.
where none of us are willing to take the blow.

please just make this less
you and i know all is for the best.
it's either apart or tangled in a one big mess.

and, oh my—this is too much.
the feelings are too heavy it feels like suffocating me.

so you got to stop before strings turn into ropes turn into bonds and seconds turn into hours turn into heartbeats.

because you can't love me and you know that,

right?
