Chapter 15- Secret

Peyton's POV

I was walking in the woods when I heard a twig snap. I quickly turned around to see my crazy ex-boyfriend standing next to the nun(weird I know. They started walking towards me, so I turned to run, but they caught me. "LET ME GO," I screamed. "I'll let you go after we have some fun," said my ex-boyfriend with a creepy smile. "No no no no no no no this can't be happening," I whispered. "What did you do with Daniel?" I asked angrily. "Oh he's visiting the afterlife," he laughed. He started coming closer to me and I started screaming when.........

I sprung up from my recurring dream only this time with the terrifying partnering of the nun. I was sweating heavily and I even woke up Daniel.

Daniel's POV

I woke up at like 2 in the morning because Peyton was tossing and turning while mumbling words. I realized that she was having a nightmare. After like 10 minutes of it, she sprung up out of breath.

I started rubbing her back when she looked over at me and started crying. "What's wrong baby," I asked. She jumped into my arms still crying. "I.....thought....I....l-lost you," she stuttered. I gently grabbed her face making her look at me. The look on her face made me tense up at the fact that she was terrified. "You are NEVER gonna lose me," I reassured her. I pulled her into my bare chest and held her.

Eventually, she calmed down and went back to sleep. I didn't want to leave her in case she woke up again. For the rest of the morning, she stayed wrapped in my arms.

The next morning she was already awake on her phone. I rubbed her lower back and she jumped before looking at me. I made me tense of because she was scared of me due to a dream about her ex. I immediately sat up and held my arms out for her to come to me. She scooted into my arms and sat in my lap and nuzzled her head into the crook of my neck. I kissed her forehead and rocked her. She ended up falling asleep, and I figured that she probably didn't get a lot of sleep last night.

She slept for two and a half hours never leaving my arms. She started stretching and then her eyes fluttered open. Her big light green eyes went straight to me. I started smiling from ear to ear and she looked at me with a confused look. I leaned down and kissed her on the lips, then on her forehead. "I love you," I told her. She started smiling."I wuv you too," she said in the cutest baby voice.

Peyton hopped out of bed and went into the kitchen. I was checking Instagram when she came back and jumped on me. I put my phone down and held her waist. I looked at her as she twiddled with her fingers like she was nervous. I sat up and kissed her cheek. She still seemed nervous and scared. "Hey what's wrong Doll," I asked. "...M-My brother's coming home tomorrow," she stuttered. "That's great," I said excitedly but calmed down when I noticed she wasn't excited. "It's not great is it?" I asked. She shook her head no. I asked why and it took a couple of minutes before she told me. "My brother has always been overprotective of me and he always wants to meet my boyfriend when I have one," she sighed."That's a problem because?" I asked. "He didn't want me dating anymore after my ex, so I never really...told...him...about you," she finally said.

Peyton's POV

When I told Daniel about my brother and my dilemma he gave me a disappointed look. I got up off of him and went to Zach's room to find Mekayla. I opened the door and thankfully she was alone. "Hey M can I talk to you?" I asked. "Yea what about?" She questioned. "You know how I told you I had that dilemma with my brother about Daniel?" I asked her. "Yea," she responded. "Well I told him about it and I think he's disappointed in me," I said while looking down at my hands. She grabbed my hands and told me that I should just explain it to my brother.

Daniel's POV

"He didn't want me dating anymore after my ex, so I never really...told...him...about you," she finally said.

Peyton got up and left the room leaving me to be disappointed. I couldn't believe that she didn't tell her brother about our relationship. I felt like she was ashamed of me, of us.

Connor's POV (Peyton's Brother)

I can't wait to see Peyton after all these years. I've missed her so much, and she's been through a lot and I'm upset that I haven't been able to be there for her. That all changes now. I've finally finished serving my time and I get to be with my family.

*FLIGHT 158 TO LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA IS NOW BOARDING*

I got up from my table and went to board the plane. I now have to prepare myself for a 16-hour flight.

Peyton's POV

I got the courage to go back upstairs only to find Daniel in the same place I left him. He didn't look up while I walked in the room and sat on the other side of the bed. "I'm sorry," I said quietly while trying not to cry. "I wanted to tell him, but he didn't want to see me hurt anymore and I didn't wanna hurt you because...I love you too much to put you through that...and I didn't want you to stop loving me," I said rambling while crying. He looked at me while I was literally crying an ocean. He put his hand on my cheek and looked at me with his ocean blue eyes. "Baby...I will NEVER stop loving you and I understand what your brother means," he said while pulling me into a hug. At this point, I was crying into his chest while he rubbed my back and kissed my head every once and awhile.

I sat up and looked at him with my red eyes. "Do you still love me?" I asked quietly with my voice cracking. "Baby, of course, I still love you and I always will," he responded. I kissed his cheek and I layed on his chest while he played with my hair and rubbed my back. I ended up falling asleep on Daniel and overheard him say something before I dozed off.

Daniel's POV

After Peyton apologized and cried her eyes out, she fell asleep on my chest. I looked at her thinking of how I could've lost her.

"I love you more than anyone has ever loved someone," I whispered. I then started to doze off to sleep along with Peyton.

An hour later, I woke up alone. I started freaking out because I didn't know where Peyton went. I hopped out of the bed and ran downstairs to see her eating Oreos on the counter like a little child. "Hey Doll," I said with a grin. She gave me a big smile and went back to her Oreos.

Like ten minutes later we heard arguing from Zach's room. Peyton and I gave each other a concerned look. We decided to go check it out. As I was walking out of the kitchen Peyton started whining like a baby because she wanted me to carry her. I smiled and picked her up and put her on my back. She nuzzled her head in my shoulder with a handful of oreos.

We then proceeded to Zach's room. The door was cracked as we heard them yelling. It was really loud and sounded pretty heated.

From what we heard they were arguing about.......
