A depressed abused girl with health issues is close to Zach but when he leaves to peruse his dream, they grow apart. They both miss each other, but they're both also very stubborn. They reconnect but it turns out to be a good thing and a bad thing...
At this very moment I was sitting here with my brother whom I haven't seen in years who doesn't like the fact that I always ended up dating and my boyfriend who just woke up and is clueless at the moment (isn't life just great for me right now 😐.
"Well...um Conner this is Daniel, my boyfriend," I said slowly. Daniel looked up at me with a frightened look. "And Daniel this is my brother Conner," I said with a small smile. Daniel immediately got up off of the hospital bed and stood up to shake Conner's hand. Conner looked at Daniel then me as I shot him a small smile. Conner shook Daniel's hand rather strongly, but Daniel played it off as if it didn't hurt. Then there was the very awkward silence. "Uhh babe can you go get me some more ice from the cafeteria," I asked with a smile. Daniel walked back over to me and kissed my forehead while rubbing my back. "Anything for you doll," he responded.
After Daniel left, Conner had a few choice words to say. "What the hell is that guy doing here," Conner asked angrily. I looked at him with a sincere look while he gave me an angry ice cold one. "Conner he's my boyfriend, did you expect him not to be here while I'm in a hospital," I replied softly, but sarcastically. "You know how I feel about you dating and he had no right to be in here, IMMEDIATE FAMILY ONLY," he exaggerated. "If you haven't noticed mom and dad are in Tennessee, Teagan and the twins (siblings) are in school in Tennessee and your across the world fighting, so no you don't get to feel a certain way about Daniel or anyone else being here...he is my family and your not gonna tell me otherwise," I stated with much confidence.
Daniel came through the door with my ice as soon as I finished telling off my brother. "Hey did I interrupt," Daniel asked. Before Conner could be rude I answered. "No babe you didn't," I said with a cheery smile. Conner gave me a scolded look and said he had some business to attend to. When he hugged me he whispered the most hurtful words into my ear. "I'll be back tomorrow and when I come back I don't want him or his friends here at all or I might as well just go back across the world," he said sternly. I gave him a sad look as he walked out taking a short glance at Daniel then slamming the door making me flinch.
I looked down and started fiddling with my fingers when Daniel walked over to me and lifted my chin to make me look at him. "What's wrong," he asked softly. I shook it off and told him I was fine with a fake smile. He saw right through it. "Peyton you can't lie to me I know you and I know when your lying," he said with a small smile. "My brother doesn't want you or the guys to be here when he comes back tomorrow," I whispered with tears in my eyes. He put his hand on my check and caressed it while giving me a sad smile. "Hey it's ok, I'll stay with you for the night and set an alarm and leave really early in the morning before he gets here," he said giving me a smile that was irresistible. I laid my head on his chest and we lied there just enjoying each other's company for a few hours before the hospital door busted open with Mekayla and the guys behind it.
"PEYTON!!!" Mekayla yelled. I covered my ears as Mekayla ran over to my hospital bed. "Are you ok, Zach called me as soon as you guys left, but I got stuck in a meeting," Mekayla said as she continued to ramble. She looked at the guys behind her and said," And I don't know their excuse their just late." "It's ok, M I'm fine," I said. "I'm really glad your ok because I would not survive with all five of them without you," she said while plopping down on a chair in my hospital room. "How rude," Corbyn stated with a gasp. We all started laughing after that.
The guys and Mekayla stayed until visiting hours were over then it was just me and Daniel at the end of the night. We were laying in the hospital bed together with his head on my stomach and my fingers running through his hair. After a while I heard his soft snores. I smiled at the fact that I had someone as great as him to call my boyfriend. A nurse came in to check up on me to make sure that I was ok before I dozed off into a deep sleep.
4:35 AM
Daniel's POV
I heard my alarm blasting through my ears and I knew that I couldn't press snooze because I had to be gone by the time Peyton wakes up. I slowly got up from the hospital bed trying my best to not wake her up. After I succeeded in getting on my feet I looked at her. I know it might sound weird, but I watched her sleep peacefully for a few minutes. After 15 minutes of staring at Peyton, I sleep brushed my teeth and hair, washed my face and put on a clean pair of clothes. I came out of the bathroom to see Peyton sitting up with a sad look on her face. She looked over at me and smiled while holding her arms out asking for a hug. I climbed back into the hospital bed next to her and held her for a little while longer.
It took everything in me to get out of that bed and leave her, but her brother isn't used to me and the guys yet. I kissed her on the head and told her I loved her before walking out the door.
I drove back to the house and went up to my room and hopped in bed with Peyton's pillow and blanket in my arms. I fell asleep after I sent her a goodnight text.

LATER THAT MORNING
Peyton's POV
Daniel had left a few hours ago and I couldn't go back to sleep without him❤️. In my opinion my brother is overreacting, but I see where he's coming from. My last relationship was one of the worst things that me and my family had to go through. I never told Daniel that story because I didn't want him to worry about me. I really hope that Conner doesn't bring that up.
I was quickly knocked back into reality when Conner opened the hospital door. "Hey peanut," he said cheerfully. I rolled my eyes at him and continued messing with my fingers. "Are you seriously mad at me for trying to protect you from another bad relationship," he asked while crossing his arms.
I gave him a confused look while sitting up. "Excuse me?" I asked. "You think that your protecting me from Daniel?" I asked very slowly. He nodded quickly. I scoffed at him. "Why shouldn't I?" Conner asked. "Because he is the best guy that I've ever been with, he doesn't treat me like crap unlike every other guy I've been with. He doesn't judge or make fun of me...and he cares about everything I want and need," I stated with tears in my eyes. Connor looked like he wanted to burst out laughing, and he did. I gave him a confused look. "Why is that so funny to you?" I asked. "It's funny because no matter what you say about him, I don't and will never trust him," he answered. "You know what......I was a lot happier when your halfway across the world," I said while grabbing my phone to text Daniel. "....I'll be back later Peyton to see you,"' he said softly while walking out the door.
I plopped my head back on the pillow and started sobbing. I immediately texted Daniel to come back to the hospital since Conner was gone. I cried until Daniel sent me a text that he was outside. I quickly dried my eyes and tried to make it seem like I wasn't crying, but I knew that Daniel wasn't gonna buy it.
After like 3 minutes Daniel slowly opened the door and immediately noticed my slightly red eyes. "Hey you ok baby?" He asked while putting one of his hands on my cheeks. "My brother and I had a fight that's all," I said softly then giving him a small smile.
