9: Reincarnated buddies

"Sheryl-sama... are you perhaps.... reincarnated?"

Her eyes widen in shock and in a quick speed, she swung a mini dagger towards my neck.

Oh my F***ing god.

She swung her dagger, but I saw it with ease and blocked with my wind magic barrier.

"CHILL YOUR GRILL HONEY! I ain't here to make killing enemies!"

She drew her dagger back but kept it near her.

"How?"
She no longer looked like a petite shy girl. Her expressions changed to hostility.

"The original villainous doesn't act all shy and meek, and even if she tries, it's so obviously fake and cringy. But now, I can see you truely have a timid personality, also the way I talk, isn't it quite obvious?" I crossed my arm in defense.

"You can be acting" Her eyes narrowed, looking at me suspiciously.

"have you met anyone who acts like this? and in fact, don't you know any of the hidden characters?"

".... I met one, and unfortunately I died after the hidden character update was announced" She retorted

"Oh so she died about a month earlier than me..." I accidentally voice out my thought.

"...Who were they?"

"The hidden capture targets?"

She nods sternly. She hid her dagger and relaxed a bit.

"The first one is me, Yoru Kagurazaka, but he has a really short plot and titled as a side-story. The second one is the Demon Realm's 3rd son: Louise Vermillion"

We stayed silent for few minutes. I can see she's trying to process all the information. The next action surprised me out of all the jump scares I saw today. She abruptly stood up and held her hair in frustration.

"NO WONDER THE DEMON LORD EXIST, THAT MAKES SENSE!"

I couldn't help but chuckle at her reaction.

"AND YOU"

I gave her a questioning look, wondering what else she could say.

"You're the hidden capture target, but that means..."

Go on~ even though I think I know what she's going to say next.

"YOU'RE BOY?!"

Yep. She rudely pointed her finger at me. I playfully pushed her pointed finger down as she kept her shocked expression.

"Tingalinga-ling~! Congrats! I am a boy, but dressed as a girl due to the weird tradition my kingdom has and yes the demon lord, aka the final boss is from the Demon Realm."

She slumped back into her seat and face planted onto the table in defeat. I nibbled into the blueberry cheesecake Milly brought at the beginning. I can't help but smile. It's been a long time I was able to talk this casually. It's a miracle I found someone with the same situation as me... well, excluding the death flags.

We ended up becoming the best friends and conversed in our interest, otome game and whatever we use to do in the old world. Not that surprising, but our interests were similar, except in our studies.

"So, how are you doing with your fiance? You haven't triggered any death flags right?" I asked as I placed my cup down.

She fidgets with her hands with a tint of blush on her cheeks. "I.. think it's better... we have...mutal..... feelings"

"wait, with Percia?!" I looked at her shocked.

She nodded shyly as she lowered her head down further.

"But what about your death flags?! You are literately right in front of one!"

"B-but I love him a-and I don't think I'll die that easily!" Sheryl argues back.

Ahhh, this girl. "What do you mean 'easily'?"

Her shy attitude vanished to a calm expression. "Well... I met the heroine earlier than the plot of the game and she..."

After telling me the whole story, I couldn't believe what Sheryl explained to me.

The Heroine, known as Anna Mosellisana, is the daughter from a Baron household in the Human Kingdom. She is supposed to appear during our 2nd year of high school, which varies around the age of 15 and 16.

Due to having the magic affinity to Light and with her bubbly, kind and mother-like personality and adorable beauty-looks, she was loved by many despite being in the lower-rank. There were some nobles who arrogantly looked down on her but in those bad situation the prince-in-shining-armor: the capture-targets,  comes in to rescue. Then there's the villainous who likes one of, or all the capture targets, and got jealous of the Heroine so she bullies her until the villianous's bad endings.

However, according to Sheryl, the new 'villainous'; she met with Anna by unexpected coincidence at the Heavenly Kingdom's prince's birthday ball a year ago. Trying her best to avoid the death flags, she avoided her and the prince, but instead, Anna confronted her by making a commotion. The commotion was really cliche: Accidentally tripping, which caused the cake she was holding to spill onto the villainous dress and apologising frantically like a weak-animal. Luckily, the god was by Sheryl's side and Percia saw the fake accident caused by the heroine. In the end, the heroine made an embarrassment of herself and left the party, which also created a strong relationship between Percia.

Now what's confusing is the heroine's attitude. Sheryl did say that she looked like a petite adorable girl with ash brown locks and soft brown doe eyes, but once she talks, it's a disappointment. Her flattery words simply dripped with fake attitude and disgusting flirtatiousness.

"I have various thesis behind her different persona, but one of them could be that, she's also a reincarnated person? With a really arrogant attitude." I reasoned to Sheryl after finishing my cheesecake.

"That's what I thought too, but I'm not planning to reveal that I'm reincarnated anyways," she replied back.

"Why's that?" I asked with anticipation.

I'm not stupid enough to reveal about our reincarnation, but I like to observe people's decisions and imagine their possible outcomes.

"I died and reincarnated. this is my new life and I can't return to my old world, so what am I going to do? Of course I'll live! Im not wasting this gift and also die by the game plot's system. I'll fight back and live happily!" She replied with determination.

I couldn't help but smile at her declaration. She's going to become a good queen.

"Sorry Sheryl, excuse me for a sec" I approached her and without realising, I triggered my mother-mode.

I pulled her into a gentle hug and placed her head on my chest. I proceeded to make her in a comfortable position and caressed her head like how a mother would take care of her child.

"Proud of you"

Sheryl's stiffened body melted and we stayed in a comfortable silence.

It didn't last that long though.

"Excuse me milady, would you refrain from any further physical contact with my beloved fiancee?" A young males voice spoke from behind us.

We turn our heads towards the voice and there stood two almost identical, handsome boys. One looked slightly angry and the other had neutral expression, but my magic aura detection said the otherwise. He was amused.

Sorry for my long absence. I went on a Japan trip and returned today! I hope to get back into writing more chapters in the future, so please don't keep your hopes too high! (>~<)
