You shattered who I was and who I could've become but it wasn't your fault. I let you use me until there was nothing left but a shell of my former self.

You think you've got forever. But suddenly your bags are packed and his head hangs low. Blinding egos are keeping you from stopping one another. You feel like you've got everything to lose and nothing to gain.  Confusion muddles your thinking. A lump fills your throat.  Love once echoed through these hallways, now deafening silence clings to each crevice of what once was. If only he'd apologise. If only you'd let go. Two way streets reconstructed to one way lanes and neither of you got the memo. And it's a shame. It breaks your heart to let go of what you built. It hurts knowing the foundation wasn't as strong as you thought.
