Olivia Allen
You know when you first wake up and you think whatever happened in your dream was real, and then you have that moment of relief when you realize it was just a dream? I experienced the opposite of that this morning.
I thought for a perfect minute that Niall's brother didn't actually walk in on us making out last night and then I remembered that nightmare was real. And I'm going to see them again tonight. No doubt he will have filled Denise in on the situation. I wanted to bury myself alive.
It just seemed worse than when you're in high school and your parents catch you kissing your boyfriend. I mean, Niall was literally grabbing my ass. We had crashed through the door so hard we broke shit. That could not have looked good. I wouldn't blame Greg for the assumptions he probably made.
I need to make a great impression tonight.
I looked at the clock on the wall. It's eight. My first class starts at nine. My schedule looks like this:
International Politics - Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00 - 10:00
International Business - Monday, Wednesday 10:30 - 12:00
Journalism Media Writing - Tuesday, Thursday 8:00 - 9:30
Economics of Financial Markets - Tuesday, Thursday 10:00 - 12:00
I figured there was no better place to study international politics and international business than a foreign country. At the London School of Economics and Political Science, no less. My schedule only has 13 credit hours when a normal semester has anywhere from 15 to 20. But I wanted to take it easy and enjoy being abroad and my parents agreed. So I would be done by noon each day!
I looked out the window. Freezing rain again. I hope London has a warm spring this year. I pulled on some blue jeans, a white tee, and my rain boots. There's no point in messing with makeup on a rainy day. Besides, it's just class. My hair looked pretty decent still from last night. After sleeping on my curls they looked like natural waves and the bedhead thing was working in my favor today.
After stuffing my supplies I had organized yesterday into my bag, throwing on a baseball cap and jacket, and grabbing an apple, I was out the door.
I left plenty early but I did have to walk there. This way I would have time to get a coffee and just wander for awhile. I should get a bus pass or something but the traffic here is so ridiculous it might not be faster. I really don't know the best way to get around this place.
This campus has the most beautiful traditional architecture. The buildings alone look prestigious.
I should try and make friends during this. There were people not only from all over the US here, but from all over the world.
I sat by a nice enough looking girl and got my laptop out. Her name is Ashley and she is from Kansas. We actually had a lot in common.
A girl from California was across the room. I didn't catch her name. She started talking about how she went clubbing and apparently David and Victoria Beckham were there that night too. She didn't see them but insisted they were there.
Ashley turned to me quietly. "Complete bullshit, right?"
"Seriously no way," I agreed. "Doesn't count if you don't see them." But stranger things have happened... No one would ever believe what's happened to me. Is it selfish that I don't even want to tell anyone about it though? I kind of like keeping it to myself. It's fun being somewhat of a secret of his.
My two classes flew by. They were genuinely fascinating. My only complaint was the homework load but that's the reality of college.
I walked right home, made a turkey sandwich for lunch, and started on the homework. For International Politics I had assigned readings on the foreign policy of many different countries. For International Business I had to research and write about the advantages and disadvantages of the tax systems of different countries from the standpoints of various sizes of business owners. This might make some people fall asleep but I was on such a high from the excitement of my first day.
