Today felt different. I wasn't sure why, everything seemed the same. It just felt different. A part of my mind had already written it off as a bad day, which was nothing new. It seemed impossible for me to think any weekday could be a good day.

When I got to school, though, I saw what was different. There was a new kid. A boy around 16 with dark hair covering most of his face. He was definitely different from the rest of the school.

I thought about him most of the day. I wanted so badly to talk to him. Something I started to think would never happen.

The bell rang through the school, snapping me out of my thoughts. I grabbed my stuff quickly and hurried out of the classroom. As soon as I rounded the corner, I bumped into someone. It was the boy. We both smiled shyly at each other.
   "Hi."
   "Hi."
