Haldi and Blushing Red

There was only two days left for marriage and the preparations were in full swing. Arrangements for Haldi ceremony which is to be held the morning were happening.

Separate locations were arranged for  the Haldi ceremony of bride and groom. Karthik was overlooking the groom's side, while Shwetha was busy in attending the bride's side.

The fragrance of Haldi paste (turmeric and rose water)  was everywhere creating the wedding aura. Shreya was busy speaking with Rishab in phone when someone knocked her door.

"Yes come in please " Shreya said.

"Hey Shreya!! I think you got your costume for Haldi???"

"Oh yeah Shwe. I got them. Will be there soon "saying she smiled.

"Ohho... Seems someone is busy with their fiancee. "

Shreya blushed and shooed her away. Smiling , Shwetha left from there and went to check on the musical arrangements. Soon, Shreya's friends and relatives walked her from her room and the ceremony began with her Grandma applying the Haldi on her face, hands and toes.

Soon her parents and other relatives smeared Haldi on her face and her friends literally drenched her and were teasing her. The music was playing continuously with Desi beats enchanting the mood further. Shwetha too smeared Haldi on her face and hugged her congratulating.

Meanwhile in the groom's side too, the Haldi had begun and Abhi was present there along with his other cousins to see Rishab. Karthik was standing near Rishab and Abhi when Abhi's phone rang. He took his mobile and smiled seeing the Caller ID.

Karthik watched his expressions and was waiting to know who that person was since he had an intution that it would be Shwetha. As soon as Abhi lifted the call, he yelled her name loudly amidst the music and sounds.

But even amidst the chaos, Karthik's ears didn't failed to hear Abhi pronouncing Shwetha's name. Seeing Abhi grinning and talking to her made him burn inside. He was staring intently at him when he realised that Abhi was now looking at him with raised brows. He averted his gaze and pretended as if nothing happened.

After completing the call, he called all his cousins and started going to bride's side, without knowing that Karthik was following him.

Soon Abhi and his cousins arrived at the bride's place. Abhi was nearing Shreya with his hands held behind. Shreya was looking at him cautiously and started moving backward when suddenly something splashed on her. Gasping for breath by the sudden shock, she raised her head to look at Abhi who was laughing at het with another water balloon in his hand.

Shreya started running with Abhi and other cousins following her splashing water balloons on her. After they were satisfied that she was drenched completely, they made her to sit in the chair and everyone started applying Haldi and she was sighing at Abhi as if meaning "Are you happy now? "

Abhi was the last one to apply Haldi. He applied on her cheeks and pinched her nose then hugging her. Again be took some Haldi in his hands and started to search someone. Then he slowly walked towards Shwetha. As soon as Shwetha saw him approaching with Haldi in her hands, she started moving back, stumbling on her steps. But Abhi was quick and was about to apply on her nose bridge, when they heard a scream.

Everyone's attention turned towards the direction where the scream came and Shreya's aunt was tying a cloth around someone's hand.

When Shwetha opened her eyes to see what happened, she was terrified looking at Karthik who was standing there with bleeding palms. The juice glass he was holding must have been broken and the maids were cleaning the glass pieces shattered.
