Newt had locked me in my room all night and part of the morning, thankfully I had all night to find a way out of my prison, I ended up climbing down from my window, it must of been an hour before I heard "OWL!" Newt had found out I'd gotten out, thankfully when he thinks at least one other person will hear, he will use my glade name. I smiled when I heard Clint who is another medjack say something along the line of "ooh someone's in trouble, you better get running owl".
After a while when I was sorting my healing herbs ready for the day, I sensed him sneak in " how'd you get out? The homestead is pretty high so you wouldn't jump" if there was one thing newt hated, it was the silent treatment which he was about to get, I didn't reply just kept shuffling my herbs and balms "look love, I'm sorry I locked you in there, I knew you'd go after gally if you had the chance to, I couldn't let that happen. Sorry now will you talk to me?"
I smiled and shifted a bottle into a new place and back but as I went to grab the olive oil he grabbed it out of my hand, he knew I got irritated when I couldn't get things done, this bottle was the last thing to do "Newt I-" "tell me how you got out" I sighed and ran a hand through my hazel-coloured hair "I climbed the cane then jumped" I saw a smirk appear on his face which quickly vanished and returned to his serious face. "I wouldn't have gone for gally, well not for a while anyway" a glint in his eye showed he was surprised "why not? I mean you said so yourself, your always healing Thomas because of-" I snatched the bottle out of his hand and placed it on the shelf and took his hands in mine
"I wouldn't of gone after him because of a memory I was thinking of, it would kept me in a good state for a while. You remember the first time we danced? Together I mean." He smiled and rubbed my hands with his thumbs "you said you didn't dance, but I made you anyway, you stood there frozen for a while then I grabbed your hands, like I'm doing now, and we danced until the last ember glowed in the fire"
I was smiling until someone yelled my name outside "OWL" then we turned and jogged out, I expected to see someone with a broken leg or cut badly but instead they were crowded around a box,the box wasn't small, I was about to open it when newt spoke up" wait, I think we should have meeting about this? This is the first box to come up here after all, it could be a trap" I withdrew my hand until I read the label 'Hope Seed'.
We all stepped away but I couldn't bring my mind away from the box, why did it say my name on it? What was inside? All these unanswered questions tugging away at my brain and it was killing me, newt wouldn't like it if I touched the box or disturbed his meeting, I walked back to homestead and sat against the banister at the top.
I stared at the box for a long time until I saw Thomas come up and sit with me "y'know newt cares about you, you're all he talks about when it's just us guys" I smiled slightly "it's because he's always having to contain me" his eyes were now on me "now that's a lie, he loves you, he's only having this meeting to agree to take the risk of you getting hurt or not, he's just going all the way to make sure you of all people don't get banished to the maze" I was about to speak when he asked another question "how do you know that box is for you? Is your name Hope?" I smiled "yea my name is Hope, I've known since I came up with the food, but I didn't want any link with my past incase it was horrible so I pretended I didn't and called myself 'owl'" he looked shocked as if I should of told him this and left.

I got up and went to the woods, then when I got there started carving arrowheads. Once I was done I got up and was about to start walking but newt appeared of out no where and dropped the box we found earlier infront of my feet "I want you to know something, no matter what's in this box, no matter what you did or who you were, if you tortured me or not. You'll always be my girl, nothing in this box can change that" he gently pushed me into the tree and kissed me lovingly, he truly meant what he had said "I don't just love you because I have to control you, I love you because your different from all the other girls, your stronger and you don't give in so easily, and you don't mind getting your hands dirty but god your fast" I smiled and wrapped my arms around the back of his neck and kissed him.
"Honestly, I'm bloody terrified of what's in the box but maybe we can stay here a little longer" I felt him smirk into the kiss "we're going to have to open it tonight Hope" I pulled back and tilted my head "I told the rest of the keepers that we would tell them if it was dangerous or not in the morning" I nodded "just so you know newt, nothing in this box will make me leave you"
We both sat down against the tree and I pulled the crate infront of me since it was a little too big to have on my lap.
