Kabanata 8

His mouth is parted as he stared at me, miski ako ay natulala. Umawang ang labi ko at napatitig sa kanyang mga mata.

"Y-You..." I pointed his eyes. "In the yacht..."

He avoided my gaze, nakagat ko ang labi at napakurap.

"W-Wave, are you--"

"Excuse me," I gasped when he stood and walked away from me. Napatitig ako sa kanya at mabilis ang pagtibok ng puso ko.

"Wave," I murmured and stared at his back.

Oh my God! Iisa lang sila 'nung lalaki sa yate! He's that man!

Doon lang akong biglang natauhan at napatayo sa panic. I started walking after him, nawala na s'ya sa aking paningin kaya halos takbuhin ko na ang pagitan namin.

"Wave!" I screamed. He disappeared at my sight, mas nilakihan ko ang hakbang ko at mabilis na tinakbo ang pintuan ng cabin nya at kumatok.

"Wave, Wave, talk to me!" I said and knocked but no one answered. "I'm not gonna hurt you, Wave, please..." I said.

No one answered. Mariing naipikit ko ang mata at pabalik-balik na naglakad sa pintuan nya.

His eyes isn't just brown, he has two colored eyes! And the public didn't know this! Wave has been keeping this secret for years now!

"Wave, please, let's talk." I said. "I-I just want to--"

I froze when the door opened, revealing Wave with his usual cold stare. I shivered, marahang humakbang ako palapit sa kanya at nadismaya nang makita ang tsokolate nyang mga mata.

It's back again.

I swallowed the lump on my throat at licked my lips.

"W-Wave,"

"Leave," Aniya. I stopped and shook my head.

"Ano bang sinasabi mo--"

"I'm a fucking mess, run now, Zirena." Mariin at may lamig nyang sabi. I sighed and shook my head.

"You're not!" Giit ko. "Wave, please, you helped me--"

"You're good now because I helped you?" Pumikit s'ya ng mariin at sinuklay ang kanyang buhok. "I'm a fucking monster, Zirena. Look at me!"

"It's not! Diba sinabi ko naman sa'yo 'nung una palang tayong magkita na--"

"You were just blinded," Natawa sya at umigting ang kanyang panga. "No one will ever like some fucktard like me, I'm a monster Zirena. I was made like this, to be hated, to be disgusted." Mariing sabi nya.

"But Wave," I said desperately. "Maraming nagmamahal sa'yo--"

"Because they didn't know who I truly am!" He groaned like a wild beast. Bahagya akong nanginig doon at napakapit sa robe ko.

"W-Wave, please don't say that..." I murmured.

"Go back now, Zirena." Kalmado nyang sabi pero may riin. I took a step forward and tried reaching him but he moved away, his knuckles fisted.

"K-Kung hindi ka magugustuhan ng ibang tao, ibahin mo ako! I know you have a good heart--"

"That's bullshit, Zire." Mapait s'yang umiling sa akin at sinuklay ang kanyang buhok ng kanyang daliri. "This is just a monstrous part of me, just a part. Baka ikaw pa mismo ang mauunang aalis kapag nalaman mo ang buo."
