The Big News

"Lets go to Gothi's Astrid it's for the best"

They arrived at Gothi's hut and knocked on the door, the door opened and Gothi let them in

"Hello Master Hiccup, what can I do for you today" she said happily

"It's Astrid, she's been sick a few times and I'm starting to get worried about her" he said keeping his arm round her waist and holding her close

"Ahh I see, okay then Astrid if you can just lay on this bed here for me" she said patting the bed next to her

Astrid laid on the bed and Gothi started her examination, after a while she eventually finished and sat on a stool beside her

"Okay, nothing seems out of place and it looks okay...just one quick question dear...have you had your period this month?" she said

Come to think of it she hadn't, she was meant to have it a few days ago but it didn't come around

"n-no I-I haven't when I think of it" she said softly

"Well then that explains it, I'm happy to say that in nine months you are going to have a family...you're pregnant my dear" she said with a huge smile on her face

Astrid started smiling uncontrollably and started to tear up "oh my gods Hiccup, were having a baby" she said excitedly

"I know it's incredible" he said as he wrapped his arms round her "thank you Gothi...how can I return it" he said with a smile

Gothi thought for a while then an idea popped into her head as she smiled "I think I'm the only one in Berk with out a dragon, maybe you could repay me by getting me one" she said

"Say no more Gothi, name the dragon you want and I'll get it for you" he said

"Okay...how about a...oh I know, how about a pack of terrible terrors" she said with a smile "oh and can they be a hatchlings, I want to watch them grown up" she smiled

"You got it" he said, he thanked her and walked out the hut with Astrid, hand in hand they walked home and talked about baby names the entire walk back

When they finally arrived they went upstairs and sat on the edge of their bed, Astrid rested her head on Hiccup's shoulder and he put his arm round her

They cuddled for a while until Astrid broke the silence "Hiccup, do you think we're ready to be parents?" she said softly

Hiccup sighed as he kissed her forehead and caressed her cheek with the back of his hand "no one is ready to be a parent Astrid, it's just one of those things where you learn how to be a parent when the baby is born" he said as he looked at her and smiled

"yeah...let's just hope we manage the teenage years" she chuckled

Hiccup laughed and kissed her cheek then he hugged her "get some rest, from what I've heard from my dad's stories on when mum was pregnant with me...some of these next nine months are not going to be fun for us" he said giggling slightly

Later that night Astrid was alone in the house as Hiccup was out on a late night flight with Toothless celebrating the announcement, she was sitting in the arm chair stroking her abdomen "I can't wait for you to get here, your gonna be my little girl...or boy" she said as she laughed not knowing of her child's gender, it was so exciting

Astrid fell asleep on the chair later that night and was in a deep slumber, so deep she didn't hear the door swing open, a dark figure stood in the door way, his left arm was missing and he had scars all over his face, a cloak of dragon skin over his right arm and a staff with a horn strapped to his back

He walked in and noticed Astrid was sleeping in the chair, he grinned evilly and walked over to her, he tied her wrists together and lifted her over his shoulder and walked out the house, on the way out her head hit the top of the door frame but the man carried on walking and walked away with Astrid

-2 Hours Later-

Hiccup returned with Toothless, they landed and Hiccup took Toothless to his stable, he said goodnight then went to his house only to notice the door was left open

Hiccup walked in and noticed the fire was still burning, "Astrid?" he called but no response, he walked to their room to see if she was sleeping but the bed was empty, he searched the entire house but she was no where to be found "where is she?" he said

He looked around again then he saw..."Astrid's head band" he gasped, Astrid never takes it off...not even when she is in the shower, if she isn't wearing it then that means "oh gods...she's in trouble"
