The Road To Delivery Part 3

The next day

TONI'S POV

I was sitting in Cher's room by myself today. It's been three days since she's been in this coma and I just wanted some alone time with her.

I was sitting on the bed where there was room and watched her peacefully.

I leaned to her ear and whispered in it. "Babygirl please wake up you're killing me here." I said and lightly kissed her cheek.

"Give me five more minutes babe."

"Wait Cheryl?" I asked and rose back up to see her staring at me with a wide smile.

"Oh my god." I sighed and pulled her into a hug. "Is this for real or one of my dreams?" I asked.

Cheryl pulled back from the hug with her arms still wrapped around my neck. "Hmm let's see." She said with a smirk.

I felt her pulling me down until our faces were an inch apart. I put my hand against her cheek and looked into her eyes. Searching for any hint that this was fake.

To seal the deal I put my lips against hers and kissed her. A shot of electricity ran through my body as I was finally able to kiss my wife again and she was able to kiss me back. I felt a tear run down my cheek.

"I thought I was gonna lose you." I said against her lips. "Toni you can never lose me i'm here to stay." She said back and I gave her a small peck on the lips then pulled back.

"I need to go get the doctors but i'll be right back babygirl okay?" I said. "Yeah that's fine i'll just lay here and sulk." She said and I gave her a confused look. "Just kidding babe go." She giggled and I smiled.

"You're really happy for someone who just got out of a coma babe." I said. "Well I thought you already knew this but i'm not like most people." She said. "Hmm makes since." I said then walked out.

I leaned on the door for a second and just smiled. "She's awake." I whispered. I pushed myself off the door and ran down the hallway to find Dr. Rodriguez.

I finally saw her coming my way and made my way to her. "She's awake." I huffed out. "Okay let me grab Dr. Jones and we will be on our way." She said. "Okay thank you." I said and ran back to Cheryl's room.

"Wow back so fast, did you run?" Cheryl asked me with a smirk. "Of course I did. I was not gonna waste time walking when I could be back here with you my love." I said back as I made my way to sit on the bed.

"Awe lay down and cuddle me baby." Cheryl said. "I really want to but the doctors will be here any second." Just as I said that the door opened and in walked Dr. Jones and Rodriguez.

"Nice to see you're awake again Cheryl." Dr. Jones said. "I'm happy to finally be awake." Cheryl said back and I held her hand.

CHERYL'S POV

"Now to keep you updated on whats been going on during your coma we have been able to supply the baby with food and everything she needs and it looks like she will be good with going until the due date." Dr. Jones said.

"But" The other doctor started which I believe to be Dr. Rodriguez. "We want you to stay here until you have your baby so we can monitor you both." She said and my eyes widened.

"You want me to stay here for a whole month?" I asked exasperatedly.

"Yes, and after you have the baby and everything's fine you can go but for now we need to keep a close eye on you both." Dr. Rodriguez said and I groan.

"If there are no more questions then we'll be on our way." Said Dr. Jones and they left.

"Damn a whole month in this bed." I sighed and looked at Toni.

"I know it sucks now babygirl but just remember this is for our little gemstone and to make sure she is okay then it will all be worth it when she gets here." Toni said gently.

"Yeah your right." I said and she leaned down to give me a kiss.

"Now can we cuddle?" I asked with a pout. "Of course my love." Toni said then laid down beside me.

Two weeks later

"How could you Toni? I thought you loved me and wanted to keep our family together." I said.

"Cheryl chill out it's just a draw four." Toni said as I started to pull cards out of the UNO deck.

"What's the color Topaz?" Reggie asked. "Red." She said and winked at me but I rolled my eyes. "I don't have any reds." I grumbled and Toni, Reggie, and Veronica laughed.

"Cheryl you used to be bomb at this game, what happened to you?" Veronica said. "Shut the fuck up whore." I snapped.

"Stop being a little bitch slut." She said back and we started laughing.

As our laughter subsided I saw that Toni and Reggie were looking at us in a confused way.

"What's wrong?" I asked them. "You guys are weird." Toni said. I leaned out of my wheel chair and kissed her cheek. "But you love me anyways." I said with a smirk.

"That I do." She said and kissed my hand.

*ring *ring *ring

Toni picked up her phone and her eyes widened.

"Um sorry guys but I have to take this call." She said then rushed out of the room.

"What was that about?" Reggie asked me. "I honestly don't know. The day I had passed out that morning she was on the phone with someone and it seemed like she was trying to keep it a secret. Maybe it's the same person." I wondered.

"It's probably nothing to worry about. It's probably stuff about the baby room since she got Sweet Pea, Fangs, and Jughead to help out with it because we're here." Veronica said and I sighed.

"Yeah maybe you're right." I said.

After 5 minutes Toni finally came back into the room.

"So there was an emergency with um.. Fangs so I should go make sure that everything is fine." Toni said. "No I can go Toni." Veronica said cheerfully.

"No it's just better I go but can you stay here until I get back?" She asked. "Sure." Veronica answered, then Toni left.

"I wonder where she went." I thought out loud. "Me too." Reggie hummed curiously.

We waited and waited. Seconds turned into minutes. Minutes turned to hours until I finally got into my hospital bed and fell asleep.

Middle of the Night

I woke up to people trying to talk in hushed voices.

"Just trust me guys." Toni said. "Can you guys keep it down i'm trying to sleep." I said to let them know that I was awake.

"Hey babe nice to see you're awake." Toni said as she walked up to me. I adjusted a bit so I could see her but I felt that the bed was wet.

Toni leaned down to kiss me but I held a hand up to her face.

"I think my water just broke."
