Mr. Davenport expected many things to happen when he sends Diana to study abroad but what he never expected was to stop getting data from her bionic chip and to hear such kind of things from her during his visit with Adam, Bree, Chase and Leo while thinking they need to save her from something or someone.
As soon as they got to Inazuma Town they were to her new school expecting to find her in the school lab doing extra work but instead getting told she never did stuff like that because she aced the exams on her first try and to search for her on the soccer pitch where most of her hard work went down.
Chase: Maybe she's just looking for ways to get extra credit Mr. Davenport
Leo: By being a soccer manager? Why would she do that? Last I checked none of you was ever a sports person
Mr. Davenport: Maybe not Leo but it's still a benefit. It develops communication skills and organizational qualities
But his wise cracks quickly went down the drain when he was his daughter on the pitch not working as a manager but instead wearing a soccer outfit and leaning against the net and laughing with Jude, Mark, Axel and Shawn who were VERY interested in the things she was telling them
Mark: So what you are saying is that soccer has always been your passion?
Diana: Yup and the sad thing is that no one really noticed
Shawn: Really? Why not?
Diana: Because my family are brainiac kind of people and field work as in sports was never their strongest feature
Jude: Speaking of features, what happened to your bionic chip? Have you figured how to shut it off yet?
Diana: Not really, I just remember I asked Axel to hide it somewhere while we were studying Last Friday and I haven't seen it since
Mark: So does that mean you lost it? *asks Axel surprised by this*
Axel: Well no. I just don't remember where I placed that. Not that it matters if it broke or anything. Diana never wanted it in the first place
Shawn: True but what will you do if it did broke? Aren't you scared your dad will be mad or disappointed in you?
Diana: Umm not really *shakes her head as she sits down between Axel and Shawn* Look I'm not saying I'm not grateful that it helped give me life but I just don't feel natural wearing it. My cousins might be used to it but I never felt like it was part of me. The chip is a curse and a burden for me, while soccer makes me feel alive and I just adore to feel the adrenaline that flows into my veins *says as she closes her eyes and smiles while leaning back feeling Axel's chest against her back not even realizing when he moves behind her*
Jude: Yes, I think I understand you. I also would never feel good if I stood in an environment that was far from my element
Shawn: Now that you mentioned it, I really have no memory of you ever loving technology, Diana. All of my memories of you are mostly related to physical training
Mark: Mine too. After all, you took off your chip when you arrived and you endured the physical and mental pressure so well that I feel like the thing isn't vital to your life on Earth
Axel: That's because it's not *says as he hugs Diana from behind and lets her lay down in his arms* I mean why would she need a superpower when she has agility and speed from natural workout? And you know her opinion on the matter, so why question it more?
Kevin: Axel is right. Diana is an athlete like us, she's no worrior. I mean she doesn't even like being dragged in that sort of things. Remember her reaction to the ''aliens''? *asks as he joins their circle*
Jude: How could we forget it?
David: She was soo mad she worked herself till she passed out *says as he joins them as well* and burned down nearlly 10 nets till Axel was able to get to her and make her calm down only for her to drop in his arms *chuckles as he remembers Axel's dramatic reactions*
Axel: Hey watch it *says as he hugs Diana tighter around the waist* Diana is my best friend after all and the only girl besides my sister that actually deserves for me to go over my head at times. It's not like she doesn't listen to me rant a lot or curse just to let loose preasure sometimes *states as the rest of the team joins them*
Meanwhile the Davenports were up the hill being able to hear anything, not believing their hears or eyes. After all Diana allowed a lot of people to know her secret and yet no one was judging her or even even thought of that as something they should be scared of, as if it seemed to them like an ordinary thing that happens to them daily
