"Hey, I'm really worried about you." Jeno mumbled softly, it scared the younger since he didn't hear him coming in. They finished their work, they were taking off their uniforms and about to head home.

Jaemin sighed. "Just forget about what happened." Jaemin said smiling with glossy eyes threatening to tear up.

Jeno frowned. "W-what do you mean forget it?" Jeno asked in disbelief.

"It was nothing really." Jaemin mumbled.

"No, it was something. We kissed two times already and one of them was today, we definitely need to discuss that." Jeno said in a serious tone, insisting what was shared earlier between the two wasn't just nothing.

"There's nothing to discuss, I'm not gonna be here for long anyway." Jaemin blurted out. He covered his mouth not believing he actually said that out loud.

Jeno was frozen. He thought what he heard was wrong for second, but unfortunately that was not the case. Jaemin said that, and this was not a dream, it was reality.

"W-what" Was the only thing Jeno could utter. His body was not responding to his comands, it's like his soul left his body.

"I-it's complicated." Jaemin admits, but it's not something Jeno will believe right now or even consider as an excuse.

"Same thing with the stupid phone, right? Everything is complicated!"
Jeno said in an angry tone after regaining his power and thoughts. It  caught Jaemin off guard, but it's not like he was making any good excuses to be considered by the older.

"I-i-i." Jaemin stuttered. He didn't know what to do, hold on or let go?

They walked out of the store, and walked towards their shared place. Both not walking beside each other, their minds wondering and drowning in thoughts. Both wanted the same thing, which is to be together, but life was not that easy.

They reached their place still quiet, none of them knowing what to say to make this feel better without telling lies. Temporary happiness would only make them suffer more.

"I'll be sleeping in the couch tonight." Jeno murmured quietly.

Jaemin could only hum in response. He saw the older taking a pillow and an extra blanket and took off to the living room.

Jaemin got himself in so much mess, he almost wished he never had to do this job so he could never meet Jeno and get attached and ruin both their lives.

Jeno didn't even wish him a goodnight, he just wore a frown and went to bed without a sound. It broke Jaemin, but again, Jaemin wouldn't blame the older.

Jaemin layed down in bed, it felt cold and strange, he couldn't sleep. He decided to get a glass of milk maybe it'll help him sleep.

He walked quietly outside the bedroom and found Jeno laying there on his phone. He saw the pink head, but didn't engage himself in any conversation.

Jaemin walked to the kitchen, opened the fridge and found no milk in there. He frowned and closed the fridge sighing deeply.

"What's wrong?" Jeno asked out of the blue scaring the younger a bit.

"Uuh, i wanted to drink milk so I could sleep, but there isn't any." Jaemin replied quietly.

Jeno got up, wore his coat and shoes and was about to leave.

Jaemin grabbed his hand to stop him. "W-whwere are you going this late?" He asked.

"To bring you milk." Jeno answered, removing the younger's hand.

"Don't! It's fine, I don't need it that much." Jaemin replied rubbing his nape.

"But you won't be able to sleep." Jeno insisted.

"It's fine, really." Jaemin said smiling.

Jeno nodded and took off his coat and sat down at the coach. He turned on the TV to watch Netflix. Jaemin decided to join him.

"Can I watch with you?" Jaemin asked softly, not sure if the older would like that.

"Sure." Jeno answered.

Jaemin sat down beside him, not too close though, there was a gap between them, a gap that was always filled between them.

Jeno was watching a movie, he looked very focused, but in reality he really wasn't, all he could think about was Jaemin and what he said earlier.

My felt something on his should, he was met with Jaemin's pink hair in his sight. Jeno didn't do anything, he just let him do whatever he wanted, even though he felt his heart breaking. But maybe he should enjoy his time with Jaemin with the tight time they had. Jeno doesn't even know any kind of details about how much time the pink head had. He felt very left out as if he didn't share something special with him, like he is the only one who felt something.

He heard soft mumbles coming out of Jaemin. He leaned a bit closer to hear what he was saying.

"Must get back and finish the mission. Don't wanna leave Jeno behind." Those were the soft mumbles from a sleeping Jaemin.

Jeno frowned. Did he really had to go?  And what was this mission he was talking about? He had a lot of questions and he knew he won't be getting any answers.

Jeno decided for just tonight he'll forget about this. He wanted to enjoy tonight so he decided to wrap his arms around Jaemin and just embrace him tightly like his life depended on it. That woke up the younger.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Jaemin asked softly in a raspy sleepy voice.

Jeno had a few tears running down his face, Jaemin kissed them away. "Jeno, I'm so sorry for being like this. I'm so sorry I can't tell you, i really want to. I'm so so so sorry that I can't. you're the best thing that ever happened to me and I wish I could keep you around forever." Jaemin mumbled softly in Jeno's ears, with his hands wrapped around his neck.

"You're so nice, you opened your house to me even though you didn't know me, but you were so nice and i-i admire you in every way possible. I wish my life was normal, and that we were met in different circumstances, maybe that'll keep us together. But I realized life is just not that easy and you gotta fight, but sometimes just sometimes fighting is not even an option, a-and I hate that!" Jaemin continued while feeling a lamp growing on his throat.

"I-i... I just wish things were different. I wish we could be in our next life met with different situations, maybe just maybe I'd get to call you mine." Jaemin finished. Jeno could only let out small sobs, his heart was beating so fast and shattering into pieces too. He didn't want this to end, he didn't want the pink head to go.

"Please, just at least try to explain to me. Tell me what's bothering you and what's keeping us apart. Please, make me feel included and aware, I hate being left out." Jeno begged, he wanted to know, to feel like he was involved in this and maybe he could actually make a difference.

"I don't know if I will, but it's just not right now. But I promise to think about it, I promise you." Jaemin responsed nuzzling his head more in the older' neck.

"For now, let's just enjoy each other's company while we can, right?" He said as he broke the hug to look at Jeno. He cupped his face and kissed him like there was no tomorrow.

He gave his everything to this kiss, as if the universe will collapse and lose its balance if he stopped. Like if he let go the whole universe would stop functioning right, but that was not it. He was just a small element in this world and him not moving forward meant nothing to it.

They longed for each other, they needed each other. Their world felt cold and strange, clouded with what they can't do to change the situation, so all they could do right now was kiss each other like tomorrow is not gonna come.
