Part 13: The Search

Aiden POV

It was going on 11:00 pm at night. Chase, Jeremy, Annabella and I we waiting outside for the Alpha and his pack to get here.

"It shouldn't be much longer Aiden."

"This is stupid, why couldn't we just go looking for him. He could pick up are scent on the way cant he?"

"Yes but the other wolves would smell you, they would know your a vampire and attack."

"Oh so they have to meet me, so its my fault we cant find Damian right now!?"

"Aiden relax, we will find him."

"How are you so sure?"

"Chase is the best tracker we have, with the other packs help its almost guaranteed with the trackers he has."

          I don't know how true that was. Either way I needed to trust him. We needed every ounce of hope we got. After a few more minutes of waiting we could see the Alpha and his pack walking up. Some were in wolf form while others were in human form but shirtless. I guess there all gonna plan on transforming.

"Im glad your on our side Derrick, it means a lot to me."

"If it wasn't for Aiden's little speech then I wouldn't be here. I didn't believe that a vampire could ever love a werewolf. If there love is real than I cant change that, its fate after all."

"Then were on the same page, lets transform than and we can begin. Will put our best trackers in front, then your guards can be placed on each side. We will all help listen for anything."

"What do you want me to do Jeremy?"

"Your the reason we have this formation. Not every pack agrees with us, especially your kind."

"I can handle myself, I dont need your protection!"

"As of right now, im still Alpha, so do as I say!"

"Im willing to die for Damian, Ill love him even if it kills me! We have bigger things to worry about Jeremy!"

          Jeremy looked me dead in the eye. I could tell he was furious with me, but I was his responsibility I guess. So he cant do anything.

"This is not up for discussion Aiden, listen to me or youll stay here ill tell Derrick to hold one back!"

          I paused for a minute before finally agreeing. I hated the feeling of uselessness. I could handle myself. They all transformed while I looked around for a trail. There was a faint trail that went deeper into the woods. So when they all were in wolf form I showed them the direction and we all started to run for him. Thank god im a vampire. The wolves were fast, I could keep up with them just fine. I never had to run this fast. It felt great with the wind in my face...

Damian pov

          I woke up next to the shore of the lake. It was faint but I smelled Jeremy and other wolves. He was searching for me, I could smell Aiden with them too. Looks like Jeremy was able to establish something with the other Alphas? I headed forward, but I wasnt running. There was no point too. The only person that would be able to keep up with me is Jeremy, or chase but I doubt the Alpha would be in front when they have a vampire with them, that makes them in danger so they could be in some formation. I started to run but not a sprint. The other wolves might be sprinting because the scent was growing, I needed to keep the distance. If I was able to pick up there scent, that meant that Chase had mine. So I began sprinting. After a minute of sprinting I got this weird feeling, and whatever it was it wasnt good. Then I picked up a scent of two vampires closing in. How the hell did they get here?

Chase pov

"I have Damians scent but its growing faint. We need speed!"

I decided to stay in human form. Incase anything happened I needed to be able to use hands incase there were vampires. Our two species has been fighting for years. A wolf jumping straight at a vampire doesnt work anymore.

While we were running, Jeremy looked at me. He then looked ahead and began sprinting. Ive never seen him sprint before. He easily passed everyone, it looked so easy. I can see why he was Alpha.

Jeremy pov

I was ahead of everyone now. It was a great risk that I was willing to take. The pack needs Damian, including me. I cant lose my son. I could finally catch Damian's scent, but something was off. Then I relized that Damian wasnt alone. There were two other vampires. I tried to push myself to go faster. He could be in danger, or worse he could already be hurt.

I could perfectly smell Damian's scent by now I should be close. The others wont be too far behind. Damian and I were fast but not a mile difference. I then noticed that the vampires were not there yet but were closing in. I needed to get there before them...

Damians pov

Dammit Jeremy was sprinting, guess they werent in formation. I stopped sprinting and stopped. I then heard the sound of running to my left and when I turned to the direction I jumped in the air. I spung in the air to turn around as I landed. Then infront of me was a vampire. He was wearing a brown leather jacket and blue jeans. With a white shirt. His eyes were blood red and he looked pissed.

"Your a fast one arent you, your the one that loves a vampire!"

I growled and got ready as he began to charge at me. Then two my left the other vampire jumped from one of the trees. I couldnt react in time to jump of of the way. He kicked me in the head as the other one came in for a punch. Then Jeremy jumped in grabbing one of the vampires. I jumped and got the other one. It was over quickly, but they wouldve had me. I couldnt fight two of them head on. I looked to jeremy as he finished off the vampire. The He turned to me with anger in his eyes.

I was gonna turn to try and escape but chase was there and the rest of the pack. I didnt really have a choice, then I saw Aiden as he hugged me. Ill never get used to him hugging me as a wolf. It was weird.

"Why did you run off?"

Aiden was upset with me, that was clear. I didnt feel regret though. I knew what I was doing. I felt that it was for the best. Jeremy looked at me to tell me that were going home. I obeyed as I couldnt escape away from them. I wouldnt pick up enough speed from the start. So we headed home...
