Part 15: Hidden Secrets

Chase and I made it to Jeremy's room opening the door. When we saw the whole room we were surprised to see papers and books everywhere. On the wall in the back there was a necklace hanging. I remembered seeing that necklace. He used too wear it when he first became alpha. I was eight at the time. Chase and I would always irritate Jeremy till he got pissed and chased us. We loved getting on his nerves. You could tell Jeremy loved it too, with him being busy all the time.

I walked over to one of the book shelves and started looking. Some of the books had dust on them. Why would he keep books if your not gonna read them? One book was called Alpha Ceremonies, it seemed interesting since im Alpha now but we don't have the time. Jeremy had a lot of books that were like that one. There were at least four more on different subjects. Then one of them was called Punishing Mutts, and Vampires, bingo!

"Hey I think I found something Chase!"

"Brilliant, bring it over here!"

          I turned and saw Chase holding the necklace Jeremy had. I walked over and sat down next to him with the book in my hands.

"Here, it suits you."

          He handed me the necklace and took the book. "Are you sure I can take this, he was your father too?"  I looked at the necklace in my hand.  "Damian, your gonna be Alpha, and besides its better with you." He said with a smile. I looked at the necklace for a few seconds before I put it on, it had a silver chain and a wolf on it. A tear escaped my eye as I remembered the memories I had. This is my family and im Alpha now. There my responsibility and I wont dishonnor Jeremy's name...

          After an hour of looking at other papers and books we headed downstairs. Than someone was nocking at the door.

"Ill get it, Chase go upstairs and tell Aiden and Annabella what we found."

          Chase ran upstairs and I went and opened the door. It was the other two Alphas from before. Anger escaped my eyes, they had no right to be here. They both looked upset but tried not to show it.

"Were sorry, can we speak with Jeremy?"

"He is dead."

"What! How?"

          I invited them in to talk and brought them into the living room. I told them the entire story, everything I knew. They both apologized and told me that they were gonna plan with Jeremy to iniciate me as next Alpha. They said that after they walked outside to leave. Jeremy said that I would come around to accept being the next Alpha, so they agreed to come back to make arrangements. You can guess how that went. They told me the date and location were all the Alphas would meet up. This ceremony is too inform all alphas that im the new Alpha. It was a long process as all Alphas had to agree, if not they would then challenge you. If you won they were forced to except. There would be a large dinner with all the packs with the new Alpha being the guest of honor. Once that was done I would be given my necklace or bracelet that all Alphas own to show the statas as Alpha. I don't understand why it's necessary but its not my place. I dont make the rules. Then finally you cut your finger before adding it to the book of Alphas, to keep your name down for history. So hopefully im not gonna be a bad Alpha.

"Where did you get that necklace?"

"It was Jeremy's necklace. He wore it when I was eight."

"Its his Alpha necklace. May we have it we have to do a ceremony and destroy it before we can make you Alpha."

"Oh, yeah, here."

          I handed over them the necklace. Too many ceremonies for the dumbest of things. You really need a ceremony to destroy a necklace? They shook my hand and escorted themselves out of the house.
