The wedding of George and Valerie took place in a very quite piece of land, consisting of grass, fresh air and peace. The place smelled of grasses, flowers and cake. Strange thing was, the cake hadn't been brought out yet. The middle of the field had been decorated to suit the couple. Lines and rows of white chairs with lavender coloured ribbons around them. Valerie had chosen white and lavender as the themed colours therefore, flowers of the exact colours adorned the surroundings especially the altar where the bride and groom would say their vows.

Two days prior, we all gathered for the rehearsal dinner and everyone got in tune to the various roles they played. I was a part of the bridesmaids along with Tess, Ana and three of Valerie's cousins. Auspiciously, Samantha was chosen as the maid of honour which she gleefully accepted. Moving on to the groom, Charles as expected was the bestman, George's two younger brothers and some of his relatives from the UK were chosen as bestmen. I couldn't help but feel a little sad that Jason would have been a part of them if he was alive. I sighed and took part in everything, the elegant entrance of the bride, learning the reception dance moves amongst others. It was so much fun. Even George's parents flew in for the ceremony two weeks prior. By now, they were well acquainted with Valerie's family. After the wedding ceremony, another much smaller, more like a celebration party will be held in England to celebrate the couple and make up for members of George's extended family who couldn't attend.

On the proclaimed day, I gazed intently at the beautiful bride in front of me. Her wedding gown was a straight long white gown which flowed at the ankles to cover her feet. Underneath, she wore a pair of not so high white sandals. Her makeup was perfect and she looked like an angel. When she was all dressed and ready, we, her friends gathered around her, laughing and crying at the same time. We couldn't believe that one of us was about to get hitched. She hugged each of us, specifically thanking us for the success of the preparation. It was a taboo for the groom to see the bride before the wedding, they say, last we heard, George was pacing back and forth in his room, unable to get over the fact that he couldn't see his bride just yet.

"You have to hurry up! I don't think George can hold up much longer. He's already on his way to the altar." Charles rattled off. He glanced at his girlfriend, captivated by the beautiful lavender dress she wore as the maid of honour. He commented on how beautiful she looked, winked and then ran off to his impatient friend. Up until we were to match to the altar, Samantha had a silly grin on her face.

From afar off, I could see the groom standing awkwardly, the palm of his hands pressed together in front of him. His black suit, white dress shirt and lavender coloured tie made him look dashing. His hair was gelled and combed back but looked a little rough, I could tell he had ran his fingers through them out of frustration.

Be patient George, she isn't going anywhere!

One after the other, we walked down the aisle. First, the little bride and ring bearer then the flowers girls throwing petals of flowers, followed by us, the bridesmaids in our simple knee-length white gowns which were off shoulder and flowed freely from our waists down to our knees. The maid of honour tailed behind us, ushering the bride, whose left arm was woven securely around the arms of her father and her right, a small bouquet of white and lavender flowers, just like the decorations around.

You should have seen the look on George's face. It was a look that showed how much he loved and adored her. I kept staring at him noticing that his gaze never wavered from his soon-to-be wife. Because of her veil, I could barely tell what got Valerie's attention but a great guess; George. We all maintained our positions as the priest made them recite their vows and pronounced them husband and wife.

It was... Magical!

The reception kicked off immediately and I could say I enjoyed myself. I ate a lot, no doubt trying to fill up for not eating the night prior due to anxiety. The girls and I couldn't eat especially when the bride couldn't. When it was time for the couple's first dance, I got so emotional as the live band played a cover version of Adele's "Make you feel my love" and "Love song", Adele was Valerie's favorite artiste. After eating, I danced with some of the best men, my dad, and the couple. It was a joyous night. I looked at Ana and Tess, they were drunk beyond words, they kept laughing and making weird comments about everyone. It was so hilarious to watch but when Ana walked up to the stage, trying to play the violin-which I knew she couldn't play-and collapsing into a deep sleep right after, I knew it was time to call it a night.

Therefore, I hugged the couple for the last time, wishing them marital bliss, I proceeded to say goodbye to the rest of them. My parents who came along offered to ride Ana, Phillip, Dan, Tess and I home but we politely declined. Who knew what Ana would be capable of doing inside the vehicle. Dad might understand but mum would definitely be mad. With that conclusion, I decided to tag along with them by getting into the far back seat of Philip's SUV. Tess and Dan sat in the middle and Ana sat shotgun.

Don't judge me but I felt jealous when I saw how Dan and Phillip cared for their partners. Dan cradled Tess in his arms while the latter slept soundly. And Phillip, well he didn't hesitate to go on stage to lift up the love of his life gingerly, gazing down at her with so much emotion.

I sighed.

I love them all but I wish I had someone to rely on too. I also wish they weren't so lovey-dovey all the time. Scratch the last wish! I didn't want that for them. I wanted them to enjoy it all while it lasted, never taking any moment for granted. Who knew when it would suddenly end just like mine? I would give my li-

"Cassie, I couldn't help but notice you were the only who didn't have a date at the wedding." Actual words cut short my thoughts and I sat upright, eyes forward at my cousin who had woken up and seemed sober.

Weird!

"Yeah, but it's all good." I answered. I just wanted to go home, sleep and forget about my love life.

"Don't you think we should do something about it? Philip, any idea?" She voiced out again. This time I wondered if she was still stupefied.

"I uh... I have no idea." Her beau stuttered, he looked at her trying to clarify if she was talking intoxicatedly.

"Don't worry, we'll come up with something." She responded, patting his shoulder. Her words piqued my interest... Negatively.

"Come up with something? What exactly does that mean, Ana?" I inquired a little lost at where the conversation was heading to.

"It means we're going to find an eligible man for you to keep you company." She replied in a duh tone.

I scoffed. She was either joking or talking nonsense. As far as I was concerned, I would never be interested in someone else. I was about to make my decision known to her and everyone in the vehicle but when I turned to her, I found her dozing off once again.

Perhaps she was pissed drunk or perhaps she was serious about it. Either way, her plans would never happen!

Or so I thought...

*Spills hot chocolate on the table* I have a bad feeling about this! Ana and her mischief. *Shakes head* I hope it turns out well though.
