"your next test is to become numb to pain" Talia said to me as i was keeling with both keens on the floor "how do i do that" i asked she snapped her fingers and two Assassins held both of my arms while another held a whip "I'm sorry my child but everyone has to go through this" she said as she stroked my cheek i nodded "i understand" after two days of Excruciating pain from whips and hot pokers i became numb to it yes i will have scars but that is what makes a warrior Talia said to "you did well my child" Talia said as someone was treating my wounds i nodded "now the hard part of your training will begin" she said "i understand" i said as i nodded

"now my child In order to become a perfect assassin and warrior you must forget about your past you must scrub yourself of that person like a bacteria you must destroy it become a warrior everything about your past self must be gone and out of your mind" Talia said i nodded "how do i do that" i asked  "let go your new name is shadow you are the scary thing that most people fear you are a warrior now you will become our little Shadow the thing that comes out of dark places people fear" Talia said i nodded "i understand" i said "say it" she said "I am Shadow the thing that people fear the thing that comes out of the dark places people fear"  i said with a blank face "i am proud of you Shadow" Talia said putting her hand on my shoulder i nodded

beep beep beep my eyelids slowly flutter open i have wires connected to my chest Oxygen on my nose i look around to see Nightwing asleep near me Artemis sleeping at a desk KidFlash sleeping in a chair Robins asleep in a love seat then i hear the door open and see Batman Canary and Arrow walk in not noticing I'm awake "well her vitals are still low but better then the past few days" Canary said Arrow and i made eye contact" jeez kid you scared the hell out of us" Arrow said and Batman and Canary walked over to me "how are you feeling" Batman asked "not my first time falling through ice" i said sitting up "what you did back there was very brave" Canary said "well i figured since you three are hell bent on making me stay" i said "might as well prove my worth" i said blankly i take a deep breath "thank you" Canary said "what for" i asked "for saving them" they motioned to everyone who was asleep i nodded "get some rest" Arrow said i nodded they left 

as i am sitting up i look at everyone who is asleep why are they even here i thought i just shrug why did i even save them i thought they tried to read my mind i thought okay I'm sick of this i took off the Oxygen and wires as soon at the wires were off the machine started going off making everyone jump up they all look at me as I'm taking the blanket off and sitting on the edge of the bed "Shadow!" they all yelled "sleep well" i asked all of them they all laughed and walked over to me "Thank you" they all said i arched my brow "what for" i said "you saved us" Robin said "all of us" Nightwing said "yeah that was" badass Artemis said "yeah well I'm still getting used to this team thing so i thought I'd give it a shot"i said  they all laughed at me "you will" Artemis said with that most of them left Nightwing was still there i go to stand but lose balance "easy" he said as he caught me "Thanks" i said he chuckled "i should be the one Thanking you" he said "you save my life" he said "well like" i said i said smirking his eyes got big "was that a smile" he said smirking at me "don't get use to it" i said "so what made you come back" he asked i just shrugged "apparently Batman Canary and Arrow are on a mission of their own" i said he arched his brow "they tracked me down and we made a deal" i said he chuckled "they are a stubborn bunch" he said "agreed" i said stretching my legs since they are so stiff from the ice cold water "so can i ask you something" he said i nod "how the hell were you so calm even when you fell through the ice and when you got out you were calm"he asked  "i was trained to have a clear mind, to be numb to pain" i said "to answer your question I've been trained for a situation like that" i said to him his eyes got wide

I can't believe what I'm hearing she was trained to be like that where is she from i thought i see she is about to walk out of the room "you coming" she asked i nodded following here who is shadow i thought i know one thing she saved my life and i owe her for that and for that I'm going to show her what its like to be a teenager i thought as i followed her
