Chapter Five

FP POV:
I woke up the next morning almost forgetting where I am, then I felt a weight on my chest and my arms were around someone. Actually it wasn't just someone, it was her. I honestly had no intention for that to happen when I came over, but because it happened I had a million questions swirling around my head. Did it mean something? Was is it a one time thing? Although the one thing I was sure of, I wouldn't let her go this time.
I felt her stir against my chest, and I could tell that she was awake.

"Good morning!" I said not able to hide the smile on my face.

"Good morning!" She replied still on my chest. "So that happened."

"Yeah it did, but I want you to know that when I came over I had no intention of that happening. I mean not that I didn't enjoy it but.." I was rambling.

She did the one thing that would shut me up, she kissed me. It was a slow kiss but it quickly grew in passion. At one point she became completely on top of me, and this kiss deepened. It felt like this was how it was meant to be. That is being together is was our existence intended. Until we were interrupted.

"Mom?" Betty called as she knocked on the door.

"Crap!" Alice said she got off me and the bed. She quickly searched for a robe to put on then went to answer the door. I not knowing what to do grabbed my clothes and ran for the bathroom. I heard Alice talking to. Betty about leaving for school until I heard my son's name.

"Mom, Jughead and I were wondering, um, since you can't work for the Register anymore because Hiram owns it. We were wondering, hoping that you would consider advising us at the Blue and Gold. Our principal is threatening to shut us down if we don't find an adult, and who better than you?"

I could tell that Alice was stunned. I also knew how afraid she was of leaving the house after the reveal. The was a long pause as Alice thought.

"Betty, are sure you want me?"

"Yes mom, who better? I mean what else have you been doing lately? This will give you a chance to get out of the house and start your life again. You can't let what dad did control your life forever."

My blood boiled at the mention of Hal. I can Alice's did too, I could also tell that she was backed into a corner.

"Fine, I'll do. When do I start?"

"In two hours you need to be at the school."

"Two hours, but Betty?"

"Sorry mom, two hours you will be at the school helping Jug and I out." Betty turned around and left for school without another word. I didn't come out until I heard the front door close.

"Did you hear the way my daughter talked to me?" Alice asked coming back on the bed with me.

I sadly couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?" She asked smacking my chest.

"It's just karma, Ali. Your daughter is some much like you."

"Whatever. I cause it looks like I need to get ready. Would you like to join me at Pop's?"

"I would love too, but aren't you afraid of us being seen in public together? I mean what about the kids?"

"Can't we go as friends? I mean we aren't just friends." She scooted closer to me as to make her point. "And if our kids ask, we can say we're trying to get along for them."

"That sounds perfect." I kissed her slowly before getting up to get ready.
