Chapter 17

TYLER BRADFORD'S POV:

"What's got your panties in a twist?" Nate snorts out a mirthful laugh at the sight of me pacing around the front of the schoolyard with a bitter scowl on my sexy face.

That's right Tyler, you're sexy. You're sexier than the sexiest man on Earth. Nova doesn't know as good thing when she sees it. For fucks sake, of course she would go back to Hayden and plead for his love.

Can I fucking puke yet?

"You need to just shut the fuck up," I lowered my voice, growling at the Oak tree, imagining it is Hayden's face and wanting to hit it so hard my knuckles would bleed.

Nate laughed, aggravating me even more. I nearly took a swing at the tree, but the hand that clasped onto my left shoulder stopped me from it.

Last night, I had seen Hayden walking up to Nova's front yard. Then, when he left and I was watching him from my lounge room, he sent me a smug smirk and flipped the bird. Then, he proceeded to look like a dickhead and hump the air, technically insinuating that he and Nova had done the dirty.]

I. Hate. Him.

"Woah, calm your shit," the familiar mocking voice of Hayden's revibrated from beside me. I took a deep breath, turning around to face the guy who I would rather skin alive than be seen with or talk to. "Someone's pissed," he sing-songs.

Hayden is naturally mocking. Before he moved to Australia, he used to be Nate and Nova's best friend. Even then, I always knew that he was fishy. He'd gotten heaps more buff since then, and towered over me with his huge ass shoulders which were an obvious sign of work at the gym. Not that I don't go to the gym, but I just don't work out so much I look like a huge chunk of steak with a tiny head.

"Why don't you fuck right off before I shove this up your ass," I grab the water bottle from Nate's hand, waving it in Hayden's face.

Nate cries out, trying to grab his water bottle from my grasp. "No. Not my water bottle. I paid so much money for this water bottle, don't even dare to shove it up his butt or else you're buying me another one."

I rolled my eyes, amused that he couldn't tell that I was being sarcastic. I would never willingly shove a water bottle up another guys butt. That's just . . . nasty.

"You're so jealous," he snickers, crossing his arms over his chest. His huge biceps look even more monstrous, a warning sign that I do not want to get in a fight with him. He would smash me so hard I'd see Kingdom come. I'm a running back; I'm supposed to be nimble and quick, while he's more along the lines of that annoying guy who always smashes into you. Slow, but built like a brick shithouse and makes you feel like you've just ran into a boulder.

"Shame, Nova and I had such a good night last night. I can't believe you even thought you had a chance with her," he laughs mockingly. "She only pretended to hate me, because she didn't want to hurt your little baby feelings."

Nate grabs the water bottle out of my hands, "Are you sure you don't want this up your ass? Because you're tempting me at the moment. Or would you prefer a pitchfork? Maybe I should make a Hayden's ass milkshake? How about that . . ."

Nate and his horror movies, I cringed. Sometimes he goes a little bit overboard with his threats, but he means no harm.

"I would flatten you both before you could even grab the pitchfork."

"Excuse me," a very-pissed-off Nova comes into my view. I scowl immediately, avoiding eye contact with her. I never thought a girl could deceive me any more than she just did. "I need to talk to you Hayden."
