I thought the nerves would stop after we got together. Now, here I am all jittery for our date. I didn't necessarily want to go on a date, since we were friends already, but she insisted.

"Now. When you go to pick her up, be sure to say 'Hello Madame' and then bow. Okay?"

I only asked Aegis' opinion on where we should go, but now he's turned into my wingman that I don't want and never asked for.

"Now practice with me. 1. 2. 3-"

"Aegis..." I hold my head in my hands. "I am not going to pick her up. We are going to meet at a Park."

"Still-"

"No still." I start walking away. That boy sometimes.

"But."

"No buts either."

______

I sauntered into the park, at first admiring the scenery. Small trees are scattered throughout the place. There are concrete paths, cutting the flora into distinct shapes, and no flowers to be seen. It's well kept. Calming...

"If you like this you should see the parks in Atlas."

"Oh. Hey Weiss." I said, still gazing. "Maybe we should go to one on a break. Then I could meet your friends and family." In the corner of my sight I notice her frown.

"Yeah... Maybe."

I fiddle with my hands. "Sorry, urm... Did I say something wrong?"

"No it's just... Complicated. Well, anyway let's go."

Weiss began walking, and despite the awkward start we sank back to the candid speech we normally share. One of the main topics being the upcoming Vytal Festival Tournament. RWBY already got a confirmation letter, but my team hadn't.

"Don't worry about it. They would be stupid to not have your Team participate.

"I hope so. We all worked hard for it."

"Trust me it shows. You are almost at our level. This close." She gestures with her fingers.

I laugh at her boasting.

"Well, I think we are already at your level."

I hold open the mostly, glass door of little café. Yeah, it was very cliche, but Weiss seemed to love the idea.

We take a table near the front, allowing us to see into the city. I look over at Weiss, and it suddenly became clear to me that we are on a date. I can feel the tension from earlier seep back.

"Excuse me." I say, adding to the awkwardness of the situation.

I leave for the restroom, not for any reason other than to recompose myself. I give myself a pep talk.

"It's just like talking to her at lunch."

Except everyone else is not here.

"Maybe, but the concept is still the same."

Is it actually?

"Hmm..."

"Are you having a conversation with yourself?" A new voice says.

"Um... Yes..."

"How about you talk to me about what's troubling you."

I take a deep breath. "Well, I am on a date with a friend I've meet months ago. I knew how to talk to her then, but now things seem different."

The stranger holds a thoughtful face. "It's not different, but now you can show them more love than you could before. It should make things easier for you. So just pretend that you aren't on a date, and whenever you get the urge to perhaps hold her hand, do it."

Well it'll be hard to ignore that we are on a date, but it's a solution.

"Thank you. I will try it out.

"Right, well don't keep them waiting."

I can do this. I can do this.

______  ______

"Great work, Emerald. The date seems to be going well. Let's wait longer to make sure."

Cinder says that (y/n) and Weiss need to fall in love. I don't know why. Cinder keeps saying that it is to keep (y/n) on our side, but I don't see how the two are related. Anyways, the date seemed to be going okay at the start but the moment they sat down at the café, I could tell   (y/n) was nervous. So... I just gave a pep talk through an illusion. It seemed to fix the problem, but I can't help feeling that I am doing something wrong.

Probably the shortest chapter, but ehh at least it's over a hundred words.
