The creature was back on its surprisingly long, but in comparison its main body were pretty small, legs. Either due to its shell being heavy or cause of another unknown reason, the caterpillar was running rather slowly but due to its size it was traversing the area it was in faster than any person could escape at.

Spike, floating high in the air as Paul came up beside him, looked down at the creature with a finger under his chin, "has Laura gone to inform Lexus?"

"Afraid so, though I don't see the point."

"It's a big creature and we may need a plan B, so what is this thing anyway?"

Paul shook his head as he stared at the caterpillar, almost with disbelief, "I am worried, but I think it's a Mensial."

"A Mensial? What's that?" Spike said.

"It's basically short for its race, a dimensional creature. Where they come from is pretty bland from what I have read up, but supposedly they come from the plans between dimensions."

Paul then got a bit closer to Spike as to point out several symbols over the Mensial's shell, they were glowing bright red and were of different unknown symbols too complicated for Spike to read over.

"Those marks are the marks of a Mensial, I recognize them since they were printed on almost every page of the books I read in my homes library."

Spike then extended a hand out in front of him, the Mensial immediately attempting to slither between two buildings only to be two big which resulted in both buildings having their first few floors crushed into and the rest of the higher floors falling forward onto the Mensial's back; the Mensial didn't flinch and just continued walking.

"It's not seeming to purposefully do damage, it is just confused of where it is" Paul said, "However it's a danger, especially here."

"Agreed" Spike said, and as his right hands fingers began straightening up as if it was clenched onto an invisible ball, the wind around Spike grew into that of a storms current.

Paul called himself away from the boy to avoid it, watching the wind cause Spikes hair and robe to be shaken around heavily. Then, without warning, the storm halted and a dozen strands of darkness tore out of Spikes sleeves and the underpart of his robe.

The shadows, as Spike called them, was the power Shadowmancers called, otherwise known as Shadowmancy; where there is a shadow accessible to the user, there is also an infinite source of power, and that was perfect for this situation.

The dozen shadows that came out of Spikes robe began growing bit by bit, extending into the air around and above Spike until they were several metres long each, and then Spikes arm lowered itself down nice and quickly.

The shadows tore through the air fast, they headed for the Mensial with their ends sharpened into tips, then as the tips had practically made contact with the Mensional's shell they instead exploded into dark smoke, the same dark smoke being sucked into the Mensial's shell

"What?!" Spike said and he quickly brought his arm again, more shadows beginning to come out of his robe again, however before they could come to his defense there was a black aura coating over the Mensial's shell.

The aura enveloped the shell until the red symbols and the old purplish aura was covered, then as quickly as the shadows had attacked earlier, the shell let out a surge of darkness directly at Spike. It was a vortex, spinning endlessly, made up entirely of the shadows Spike had sent earlier, and while Spikes own shadows were able to create a dome of shadows around Spike it was broken apart without any effort and Spike was sent flying through the city.
