A New Beginning

Chapter 9

The next morning I woke up to an empty bed. I was confused where Logan could have gone this early on a Saturday. I got out of bed and got dressed and ready for my day. I walked out in to the living room expecting Logan to be there, maybe reading the paper but he wasn't. I decided I would head downstairs to go have my breakfast and my decaf. When I got downstairs I was surprised to see Logan behind the counter taking orders. I had just sat down at a table when Lane walked in. "Lane over here!"

"Hey Rory hows the new place?"

"It is great! I am so excited about it! I have even bigger news though!"

"What!? Come on tell me!"

"Logan proposed last night! I'm getting married!" Lane and I both squeal with excitement.

"What's all the excitement ladies?" Logan asks as he came over to our table.

"I just told Lane about last night. We were doing a celebratory squeal." Lane and I both double over laughing with excitement. Lane stood up and enveloped Logan in a huge hug.

"Congratulations both of you I am so happy for you. I get to be in the wedding right?"

"Of course you are going to be in the wedding Lane. That is such a silly question. I want you as my Maid of Honour. Also do you think Steve and Kwan would be our ring bearers? I mean I know they aren't super young anymore but do you think they would?" I couldn't think of anything better than having my to favourite god sons in my wedding."

"I'm sure they would be happy to do that for their favourite Aunt."

"Well," Logan interrupts. "while you lovely ladies discuss all of this what can I get you two to eat?"

"Decaf for me with eggs, bacon and pancakes please hun."

"Same for me please." I look at my best friend puzzlingly. Logan takes our order and heads off to the kitchen.

"Decaf? The last time you had decaf was when you were pregnant with the twins....." my voice trials off as Lane is smirking, watching me put this altogether. "You are pregnant!?"

"Yep." Lane giggles.

"I thought after you got pregnant with the twins you swore off sex because it was so bad."

"Well I listened to what you told me about trying it in a bed. Granted it took a few years for that to happen but you were right, so much better."

"Wow I can believe this! We are going to be doing this at the same time. How cool is that!?" I reach over and hug my best friend, completely thrilled by this news.

"Alright now.." Lane sits back down and tries to look serious again. "When is the wedding?"

Logan comes back then with our coffees and I turn to him, "Lane just asked when we were planning to get married. What do you think? I mean I don't want a huge wedding or anything like that. I am happy with something small and preferably before I start to show would be nice."

Logan laughs and bends down and gives me a sweet kiss. "I will marry you anytime, anywhere Ace."

"How about New Years Eve? We could have it at the inn. That gives us just under a month to plan everything."

"I love it Ace. I think New Years ever is perfect."

"Ok wonderful. Lane and I and I'm assuming Mom have a lot of planning to do." Logan smiled and went back to the kitchen to grab our food.

Lane and I ate our breakfasts and chatted about the wedding trying to come up with ideas. By the time we finished our breakfasts we had decided on the colour scheme. We and decided on red and blue. Red for the ladies dresses and blue for the men's ties. We decided that we would meet later at the inn to discuss with Mom our ideas.

Later that afternoon Mom, Lane and I were seated in the dinning room planning out everything. We had decided that we would have the ceremony at sunset out on the back veranda. We figured it would be very romantic with the setting sun. I had decided that I on top of Lane being my maid of honour that Paris and; I was hoping; Honour would be my bridesmaids. I am assuming that Logan would have Colin, Finn and Robert as his groomsmen.

"Okay now the guest list." Mom started. "How many people we invite will depend how we do the reception after. I mean if we invite all of the town we will have to clear more space inside to accommodate dancing and such, but if it's just going to be the wedding party and only a few people then we don't have to rearrange at all really. Or there is the option of having the reception in the town square...."

"Mom take a breath. I would like to include the town for sure, everyone here has been a huge part of my life and I'm hoping will be a huge part of this little ones as well. So I think having the reception in the town square would be the best idea."

"I like that idea." Lane pipes in. "I can even see if the band would play for you guys. Though I know they will."

"Perfect Lane. I'd love Hep Alien to play. Do you think Zach would play a sound on mandolin as I walk down the aisle?"

"I will check with him tonight but I am sure he would."

"Alright now for food. What do we want to do? I could ask Sookie if she would make the food and the cake." Mom suggests.

"Are you sure she would do that Mom?"

"Let me go give her a quick call an check. I will be right back."

"I'm going to go give Zach a call also and then we will have even more planned and confirmed. Be right back." Lane and Mom both left the room and left me sitting there. I decided to take advantage of the time to shoot Logan a text to let him know what we were thinking and to see if he he though Honour would be in the wedding.

Hey hun. Just wanted to let you know that wedding plans are coming along very well. I was wondering if you think Honour would be one of my bridesmaids. I know better than to think that your parents would even think of coming but I would love Honour to be included.

I waited a few minutes before got a response back.

Hey Ace. I texted her and she responded back with YES!!! She is so touched that you asked.

OMG that awesome Logan. Thank you for getting an answer so quick. I love you.

I love you to Rory. I will see you at home later.

Just then Mom and Lane both came back in the room.

"Sookie said she would be more than happy to cook the meal and bake a cake for you."

"And Zach said he will definitely play as you walk down the aisle, so long as it is not Celine Dion."

"Thank you both so much for all your help." I got up and hugged both of them.

The three of the ladies continued to planned and chat through the rest of the afternoon. Once we had almost everything planned we said our goodbyes and I headed home for dinner.

When I got upstairs I opened the door and I smelt amazing. "Hunny I'm home. It smells amazing in here." Logan turned away from the stove and came over and gave me a hug and kiss.

"Dinner is almost ready, come sit down and relax."

"Thank you Logan. I can't believe you made me dinner."

"I wanted to surprise my lovely fiancé. Now lets eat."

We sat down and ate an amazing pasta dinner with chicken and a salad. We talked about all the wedding plans that we had made today. After dinner we snuggled up on the couch to watch a movie. I only saw maybe the first twenty minutes before I dozed off. Next thing I remember is Logan picking me up, carrying me to bed and falling asleep snuggled up together.
