Shawn Mendes
I was in a hell of a lot of pain.
I couldn't do a lot because of my leg. I started teaching again the week after I got out but I couldn't move much. The only way I could get round was because of Faye.
She was the one that was keeping me going. She helped me do everything in the day, and night. She cooked and helped me get dressed and ready for lectures, she looked after me and all the while looked after herself and the house. Considering she never really did this back home she was very good at keeping things organised. And I love her. I knew I did, but this all just confirmed it.

"What are you doing for Halloween?" I asked her as we started clearing away the table after dinner.
"Well, I know that there's a party going on." Faye shrugged.
"How?"
"It's Tyler's party" she smiled and I nodded. She was so beautiful. She didn't even have to try to be beautiful, she just was.
"Are you going to go?" I asked secretly hoping that she would say no.
"I haven't really thought about it. Would you come?" She asked and I couldn't believe what she was asking me, I almost dropped the plate in my hands.

"Are you joking? I couldn't come I'm a teacher here." I laughed but all Faye did was shrug.
"Wear a mask, put makeup on, do your hair different" she said and I realised that she did have a point.
"You really want me to come?" I said pointing down to my leg.
"You have a boot now, you don't actually need the crutches you just use them so I do things for you" Faye smirked and I felt a blush creep onto my cheeks.
"I don't do that" I scoffed.
"I heard you talking to Camila about it" Faye laughed and the blush got stronger. "Please come with me. It'll be fun. We can dress up together and you can go in a mask or I'll do your hair and makeup and it'll be great. Come on. Don't you want to see a proper uni party?" Faye said raising her eyebrow.

"Ok I'll come. When is it?"
"Friday night" she said and I nodded.
"That's only a few days away. How am I going to get a costume?" I asked hoping I could make the excuse not to go.
"I got you one when I was shopping. I planned making you come with me when Tyler first asked me about it" Faye smirked and I rolled my eyes at her.
"St least tell me it's a good costume" I said and she smirked again.
"How would you feel if it requires you to be shirtless?" She giggled and an involuntary blush came to my cheeks, as if she's never seen me shirtless before.
"Faye, I'm not going to a party with no shirt on. What if some girl tried to hit on me?" I asked and Faye shrugged.
"Oh don't worry, I'm not leaving your side the whole night. I'll show them that your taken" Faye smiled and I limped over to her as she stood at the sink, wrapping my arms round her waist.
"Someone's possessive" I whispered in her ear and I felt little bumps appear on her skin. "I didn't think we were actually together again? Does this mean I don't have to ask?" I said and kissed the top of her head.
She spun on her heel to face me.
"Hmm, no I think I'll make you ask again" She said and I couldn't help but roll my eyes. "I'll say yes" she whispered, slowly kissing my cheek.

Later on we lie in bed together, watching some documentary neither of us were really paying attention to.
"Camila told me that you sing" Faye said randomly as she drew little patterns on my chest.
"I don't think I like you two being friends" I laughed.
"Oh come on Shawn, can you sing for me?" She asked and I shook my head. I looked at her as she sat up, a pout forming on her face.
"Pwease. I'll beg" she said and I winked at her.
"Go for it"
"You disgust me" she said and we both fell into a laughter that was surprisingly very comforting to hear.
"Faye I don't really sing, only a little" I told her shrugging my shoulders.
"You've never sung for me. I don't think I've ever really heard you sing. Only quietly" she said and I sighed.
"Do you really want to hear me sing? I'm not that good" I said.
"I bet you are. You're just modest" she giggled and I pointed at my guitar in the corner of the room.
"One song" I said making sure the guitar was in tune.
"One song" she repeated.

I hesitated for a moment before noticing the hopeful look on her face. I kept looking at her whilst playing the familiar cords, only looking down as I began to sing the words.
'Wise men say, only fools rush in,
But I can't help falling in love with you...'

As I sung through the song, I dared not look up at Faye. I sang, feeling every word was true about our relationship.  I couldn't help falling in love with Faye. I just did, and it didn't take long for me to love her.

As I played the last few cords I looked up at her again to see her mouth open, staring at me.
"What?"
"Shawn! That was amazing! Why didn't you do this as a career?" She said as if she were in awe of me.
"I didn't think about it. Singing never really crossed my mind" I shrugged.
"You sing beautifully" Faye said as she placed the guitar on the floor.
As she sat back up again I opened my arms and she crawled into them. She started to place little kisses on my neck and I couldn't help but bite my lip.
"Stop" I said to her secretly not wanting her to stop.
"Why?"
"You know why" I said and I heard a little laugh escape her lips.
"Ok" she said pulling her mouth away from my neck.
"I didn't actually mean it. It has been forever since we-"
"You can't do it with your leg. So I guess we gotta leave it a bit longer" she said and drew patterns on my chest.
"You drive me wild" I smiled and again her sweet giggle filled the room.
